The disgraced Florida sheriff’s deputy who stayed outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as a killer stalked its halls has spent the 90 days since the massacre wondering why he failed to save lives, according to a report.
“It’s haunting,” Scot Peterson said in a Washington Post report published Monday. “I’ve cut that day up a thousand ways with a million different what-if scenarios, but the bottom line is I was there to protect, and I lost 17.”
Since the Valentine’s Day attack at the Parkland school — where 17 people were killed and 17 more injured — Peterson has lost his job with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, been dubbed the “Coward of Broward” in local media and been served with a lawsuit from a parent whose daughter died in the shooting.
According to the newspaper, he now spends most of his days hiding in the duplex he shares with his girlfriend, armed with a motion detector and a sheet covering his front door, replaying every minute of the shooting.
He’s rewatched surveillance footage, read witness statements and studied dozens of pages of documents, trying to figure out what happened.

He’s got those “Old Yellow Stain Blues!” He’s a rare species of “skunk,” with a yellow stripe down his back! He will not live to spend his ill-gotten retirement. His guilt will cause him to take his own life. A coward dies many times, a brave man, only once.
True. What's equally true is that it was his job to go find out where the shots were coming from, not just stand there scratching his butt.

Read elsewhere that this “poor” disgraced deputy dawg is going to start drawing a pension of over $9000.00 per month.

Mr. Peterson is referred to by basic ordinary male Americans as being “CHICKEN$HIT.”
If he had honor, he would have put his service weapon in his mouth and pulled the trigger.
“The hall was crowded with students evacuating because of the fire alarm. Some would later tell investigators that they didn’t realize an active shooter was in the building. Like Peterson, they had not been able to hear or place the gunshots that were coming from the first floor.”
He was also hearing reports on his radio that people heard shots by the football field and that there were wounded in that area.
He stood for 4-5 minutes, right outside the building, LOOKING right at the building where shots were being fired and over a dozen were being murdered.
This BS alleging he didn’t have a clue where the shots were coming from is pie in the sky. Never buying that pap.
SO NOW, HE’S A VICTIM.
When the chips were down, he crapped his pants.
