Washington (CNN) - Sen. John McCain said Saturday that he supports an effort in the House of Representatives to force a vote on an immigration bill.
"I strongly support the bipartisan effort in the House to file a discharge petition to reopen the debate on immigration reform and bring up our #USAAct for a vote," the Arizona Republican wrote in a tweet.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Republican Reps. Will Hurd of Texas, Jeff Denham of California and and Carlos Curbelo of Florida, introduced the Uniting and Securing America Act in January. The bill would shield undocumented immigrants brought to the US as children who have been protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program from deportation.
McCain introduced a companion version of the bill in the Senate in February.

He hasn’t been voting since he evidently can’t get to DC due to his health. He’s not representing his constituency, but of course, that’s not as important to him as staying a Senator until he’s drawn his last breath. Ted Kennedy did the same thing.
Gen. McInerney got fired from Fox News last month for calling him “Songbird” on the air.
screw McCain
There is no credible evidence that McCain has said anything in six months. This constant stream of press releases and Tweets are an obvious effort to deceive.
Not for my sister who lives there. There are still some sane people living in AZ.
I voted for this knucklehead.
Spit.
I love that.
John “Bernie” McCain tweets again.
Oops! Someone wants proof of life...wave John!
When are the Pro-AMERICAN CITIZEN immigration laws going to be enforced ???
McCain is probably unable to “ say” anything
Who is running his twitter account?
Fighting till death, why? Lets looking into his investments for the family when he is gone
It still is as far as I’m concerned.
John, call a press conference, Im sure the media will be happy to drive up to Sedona to attend. If you really want this John say it on camera.
I wonder whether or not there is a monetary difference between dieing as a sitting Senator and passing as a former Senator. Perhaps the type of funeral is different. IMO, either would play into the greed and vanity of both Kennedy and McCain and explain their actions.
I don’t think it’s a money issue, but vanity more than anything. I’m hoping he doesn’t end up lying in state in the Capitol (Senator and former POW - Mitch/Ryan would have to make the offer, I think). McCain won’t be buried at Arlington (his father & grandfather are there), but at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Maryland.
Ted Kennedy (died a Senator) went to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, where he laid in repose before going to Arlington for burial (near his brother JFK).
Aren’t there attendance requirements in Congress? There should be. If you can’t be there for 3 months, you are out. Period.
Damn wish he really had brain cancer, but with no brain it isn’t possible.
