CA Lawmakers Seek to Expand Gun Confiscation, Limit Number of Firearms Residents Can Buy

California lawmakers are pushing numerous gun control measures including an expansion of confiscatory orders and limits on the number of firearms residents can buy each month.

Many of the lawmakers are claiming school shootings in Florida and Texas as the impetus for more gun control on law-abiding Californians.

The Mercury News reports that Assemblyman Rob Bonita (D-18) is pushing controls to bar 18-20-year olds from buying firearms. A companion bill, sponsored by State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-25), passed the Senate earlier this week. Portantino’s bill also puts a one-gun-a-month purchase limit in place for Californians.

Why not just one gun in your lifetime? Which you have to check out from an govt controlled armory and each round must be accounted for. These assclowns are really insane,

They’re really learning a lot from the strict gun control measures in Chicago.

The political elites who want to confiscate your guns (we stopped calling the Sherrif when there were firearms discharges on the street, because they never came) in order to ensure a compliant and docile hoi polloi, don’t have to dirty their hands with them—they hire their guns.

One of the many reasons we fled SoCal in 2015.

It was so amazing to go to the gun store and walk out with our purchases—instant background checks. No waiting period.

I always worried about women in California who were the victims of domestic violence or stalkers and needed protection *now*. No. Sorry. You have to wait ten days, lady.

When I got my first gun (.45 Megastar), I was scared silly of my convicted felon neighbors. Since I was still alive after ten days, I got the gun, and the ne t day signed up for the NRA Women’s Personal Protection course. I highly recommend it.

The neighbors did end up going back to prison. I even got to testify. Schadenfreude.

I have a better idea. Limit the number of leftist and gun control politicians in California.

I suggest just one.

The pathetic thing is that Californians let their politicians do this, re-elect them. Worse, these laws typically exempt the politicians, government officials, and law enforcement, even after they leave work. Government is armed, criminals are armed, and the law abiding public, like sheep, are left at the mercy of both.

If this round of legislation passes, you will not be able to directly buy any parts to repair you own firearms in California. You will need to have parts sent to an FFL first. One of the major issues is that the legislation only vaguely defines what a part is so it could be any spring or screw.

The proper ruling next time a 2Amd comes before it is to invoke the actual words in the Constitution. No pages of reasoning and citations are needed. There is no “interpretation” needed. 2Amd is short, simple, and absolute. No “Incorporation” is irrelevant. “shall not be infringed” admits of no weaseling, no exemptions. It does not say who has the right and who has not. It says the right shall not be infringed. That means every level of government.

I relocated from San Diego to Idaho in Dec 2000. Best choice ever. Normal gun laws instead of endless new bans and restrictions in CA. My wife and I spent last Saturday in a 9 hour defensive handgun class. 300 rounds. Practice safely drawing. Multiple distances, double taps, move and shoot, malfunction clearing, magazine swaps. Excellent instruction. Exposed poor choices in equipment that can be remedied in a training setting instead of being caught flat footed in a real self defense encounter.

“and the law abiding public, like sheep, are left at the mercy of both.”

No, not really.

There are millions of “illegal” weapons in the hands of otherwise law abiding citizens in CA.

And millions of legal weapons too.

Just about any pistol in CA is legal.

As is any shotgun.

And the Mini-14 and M1A1 too.

Granted the magazines are limited, but NOBODY has surrendered the full sized mags and Nevada is but a hop and a skip away where one can buy magazines without ID.

At no time do they ever plan to take guns from violent criminals. Just from non-violent citizens.

“..expansion of confiscatory orders...”

Californians: Confiscation?
That’s THE DAY you have them for.
That day.

“...These assclowns are really insane,...”

No, they’re not insane. They’re bold, arrogant, aggressive, subversive communist assholes, and they haven’t felt any pushback or personal pain, so they’re “going for it”.

They’re not insane at all. They know exactly what they’re doing, and no one is doing anything about it.

But ... at least Californians can still have “original intent 2nd Amendment” single shot muskets... for now.

Well, the anti gun drones never sleep and are always looking at new definitions of “infringe”. Besides I could loan you a couple Mini-14 mags.
