Gosh, what a beautiful place to take a walk or a bike ride! We have NOTHING like that. Well, we don’t have trees over 10” tall [mesquites] unless we plant them in our yards. LOL!

How did the day go with the new gal? Seem like she’ll work out well? I sure hope so!!

The funny thing is that Pond Meadow Park is barely outside of the City Of Boston, and is bordered by the HUGE Route 3 Highway to Cape Cod. It is in a very thickly Settled area. You can hear the highway, but you can’t see it.

I think it may have been a granite quarry at one time.

As they say, actions have consequences and if you pave and otherwise develop land, water’s going to find another way to move where it wants to go. That’s not so good when there’s a lot of water wanting to go through town. :-(

Amazing what they can do to a granite quarry! It looks so peaceful. Do all the trees sort of muffle the city sounds?

She’s VERY lucky. Not only coyotes to worry about but hawks, eagles, and owls. She’s more than small enough for any of them to carry off.

But she’s safe and sound and well-fed now. A lucky, happy little girl.

Yes.

The hiss of traffic on Route 3 is only discernible on one side of the park. And, you can always pretend it’s a waterfall! LOL!

Birdsong and bubbling streams predominate elsewhere.

And this is only ONE of our hiking trails. There are some in Hanover and Pembroke that are rougher going.

And one in Weymouth (next town over) that is a glacial “esker” which is very challenging.
