Obama believes that one important way we can maintain and increase a national identity, where citizens view themselves as Americans first, rather than members of a particular tribe (like our political party, or race, or gender) is by sharing stories with each other. The more we can do that, the more we'll see each other as fellow humans, rather than as caricatures representing some other tribe.

Were doing just fine without obama. Who cares if the crazy radical leftists are on board. We will continue to fight them right alongside President Trump. Waching the memorial services this morning gives me great hope. For every crazy college liberal, we have many more young people who are being raised the right way.
Methinks his appeal to unity is to head off the upcoming publicity that he used the DOJ/FBI and every other federal agency to screw Donald Trump.
