All eyes are on Starbucks. And not because its rolling out a new caffeinated drink.
Tomorrow Starbucks is shutting down its more than 8,000 locations across the county to conduct racial bias training for its 175,000 employees.
Some critics, mainly on social media, see it as political correctness gone too far. Others welcome the training.
It comes nearly seven weeks after two black men waiting at a Starbucks in Philadelphia were arrested when a store manager called the police.
Since their April 12 arrest, Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson have reached a settlement with the city: A payment of $1 to each in exchange for the creation of a $200,000 fund to help young entrepreneurs in Philadelphia.
Starbucks has experienced a backlash of criticism and calls for a boycott. Earlier this month, it announced a new policy that allows anyone to use its spaces, including restrooms, cafes and patios, regardless of whether they make a purchase. Company executives said its previous policies were loose and ambiguous, leaving decisions on whether people could sit in its stores or use the restroom up to store managers.

I love your idea.
The old fashioned broadside still has a role, too. Post dozens of sheets photoshopped with Starbucks logo all over town on light posts and walls. Say “We care about our neighbors. We are offering free coffee and pastries of your choice to all this week.” Pass these out to derelicts, too.
Homeless and young people arrive and get furious over denial of the free stuff. Remember every week there is a violent outburst at a McD or other fast food place (manager scalded by hot coffee thrown in his face by customer in argument over prices etc.)
“The restroom your BARISTA - who MAKES YOUR LATTE - uses, is the SAME ONE the homeless/druggies use.”
And that Barrista is also likely someone from a country where the use of toilet paper is frowned upon. Where “right hands” are “used” almost exclusively. Or is it left hands, I can’t remember which one is the “favorite?” I guess it’s probably wise not to shake either of their hands.
“On his weekend show, Greg Gutfelds spoof suggested that Starbucks charge to use the restrooms and give away free coffee.”
If they did that, they would be offering their customers a lot more value!

Two words can sum up their bias training. White priveledge
Starbuck's has lots of $ and lots of locations to protest at.
Its product is overpriced but still sells based on the company's popularity and public image.
Its customer base is somewhat young, rich, left-leaning, social-justice-oriented.
In short, Starbuck's is low hanging fruit, overripe, begging to be plucked by social-justice BLM extortionists.
Checks are flying now from Starbuck's coffers, some very public and others very private. Jesse Jackson became a rich man this way, I wonder who it will be this time?
Separate but equal?
No time for Coffee ,they have to Train and Train and Train ,LOL
Bingo. You said my secret word Vietnam.
All the men who were maimed or killed in that war defended the interests of our country and risked their lives to defend the people at home.
Years later I saw pictures of McCain shaking hands vigorously with Communist leaders who helped him set up US business trade deals there.
McNamara later went on TV crying openly and saying “It was all a lie. What we did was based on lies the whole time.”
That Howard Schultz guy is only interested in money. If the “cause” is convenient and might earn him sympathy as the new Gandhi, then he’ll get photo ops with the leaders and then phone his assistants to see how much money he made from the PR.
Can’t he find coffee beans from somewhere else?
They should close them all permanently and give all their money to Al Sharpton for reparations.
This is what I’ve been telling my lib friends
You think you, your family, are just going to sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya . . .
Or do you think they’ll angrily enact “you owe us” laws and secession to Mexico campaigns, and vote benefits to themselves?
FOOLS They stop and contemplate, they’ve never thought of that before.
Excellent post that all should talk about to friends and foes in their neighborhoods.
Someone who had first hand knowledge told me the lettuce pickers and others (all illegals, naturally!) have huge fields to work in for hours at a time and portajohns at the fringes. They see them but say “That’s too far away” and just go and use their hands or leaves of lettuce (!!) afterward. Then some chain says recalling e coli contaminated vegetables in the following states....
Yet another reason to love those rascally illegals and their cheapskate bosses.
So often the left is able to isolate and focus punitive retribution on conservatives who have the courage to lend voice to their beliefs. Starbucks presents an easy, ripe target for some overdue political payback.

Dr. Peterson addresses the problems with unconscious bias training, too.

Well, I drive through the Salinas Valley quite often, and I can tell you that at least there, the “porta johns” are on wheels and they stay in the fields immediately adjacent to the crops being tended to. I don’t think the growers a) want anyone to crap on their produce and b) they want to make sure that “bathroom breaks” don’t cut into the productivity of their laborers. And those workers seem to be doing quite well for themselves if you can judge that by the age of the cars they drive to the fields. They are all new.
They should replace all their white workers with blacks, preferably LGBT. Oh, and pay $15/hr.
Isn’t Seattle the home of homelessness along with Starbucks?
Your rebranding is very appropriate.
Enough Virtue Signaling Starbucks!
