Articles about the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of independent journalist and activist Tommy Robinson are being rapidly scrubbed from the internet after the British government put restrictions in place banning any reporting on the matter.
Robinson, 35, was arrested on Friday for suspicion of breaching the peace while livestreaming to report on the trial of a child grooming gang and will now have to serve a prior 13 month suspended sentence for a similar offense.
Articles from the Daily Record, Birmingham Live, The Mirror, RT and even Breitbart News were all taken offline in the hours following his detention.

Twitter is alive with the story. Geert Wilders, Katie Hopkins, Raheem from Britbart London, the woman whose last name is Pettibone - a UKIP person. So, until Twitter shuts it down, we are getting some news.
Appalling.
Did anyone bother to google this? Its all over the British press.
So what do you think happens in the U.S. if a judge’s “gag” order is breached by a journalist? The order was not exclusively applied to him. It was given for a good reason. Negative publicity about a trial can result in a request for a mistrial. Which if granted means the prosecution has to request a new trial. That takes time and money. And likely could mean the parties being acquitted. Not to mention speedy trial and all that.
Britain like the U.S. grants the defendants the presumption of innocence. We might not like it when it seems to mean the obviously guilty have more rights than you or I. But we would like to a good sight less if that presumption was flexible and not a fast rule.
“So what do you think happens in the U.S. if a judges gag order is breached by a journalist?”
Not much because in the US such orders are only lawful when applied to the participants in a specific case. They don’t apply to reporters at all.
I just checked the home page of the UK Daily Mail. The word Robinson occurs zero times. The word Kardashian occurs 19 times.

... with walnuts?
There have been gag orders put on the media in the U.S. It is rare, very rare. The fact remains though that if a gag order is breached it is regarded as contempt of court. That is true here and in the U.K.
We are blessed to have 1st amendment protections here. The U.K. does not have that. So judges are probably not as constrained when it comes to issuing gag orders. In the U.K. true freedom of speech has been kicked to the curb some time ago. Thanks for that can go to LGBTQWTH groups.
English Walnuts?..................
That is SUCH an excellent clip !
I was born and raised there. I cannot state emphatically enough of how grateful and blessed I was to become a citizen of the USA. Every time I’ve returned it gets worse.
Now there seems to be no hiding it, the mask is off, you’re living in tyranny.
If Tommy is killed in prison - well, you know what many on FR will be saying...
My God. He’s going to be murdered in prison. It’s full of Muslims, and that has happened before.
First, Britain beat the Nazis. Then they became them.
WTF has happened to the British people? When did this type of OPPRESSIVE GOVERNMENT behavior become acceptable in the UK?
This is what eventually happens when you DONT have a Constitution/Bill of Rights.
I read this earlier, but there are still multiple articles about him on page one of my Bing search. I’m glad for conservation reporting, but I don’t like it when they print things that aren’t correct.
My CAD program just did the same for me.
We’re getting there, anyway. As of last night, I can’t comment through disqus, without agreeing to outrageous conditions, all because of Zuckerberg. (Disqus is connected to Facebook):

“I agree to Disqus’ processing of email and IP address, and the use of cookies, to facilitate my authentication and posting of comments, explained further in the Privacy Policy”
Sigh...CONSERVATIVE reporting.
