SEATTLE Amazon, Starbucks, Vulcan and other companies have pledged a total of more than $350,000 toward an effort to repeal Seattle's newly passed tax on large employers intended to combat homelessness.
Just days after the Seattle City Council approved the levy, the No Tax On Jobs campaign, a coalition of businesses, announced it would gather signatures to

Shouldn’t Starbucks be building free heads all over the city?
Schadenfreude alert.
Leftist never learn. In Pittsburgh, the city and unions extorted money out of the Steel plants because they thought they had them over the barrel. They’re here and won’t leave so they just have to take it!! Guess what? They left and now the steel business in Southwestern Pa is a fraction of what it once was...
I don't see it that way.
As entities not supported enabled by taxes, private companies are aware that if you support the indolent, you are guaranteed to create more of them -- forever.
Only ignorant, arrogant elected criminals could view that as a good thing.
Screw them and the morons who keep re-electing them.
Move to Des Moines.
They’ll pay you to relocate.
“Because of liberal benefactors like Amazon and Starbucks, Seattle has a Socialist city council. “
Yeah, which one of them paid for this Indian b!tch Kashima Sawant’s campaign? Isn’t this “diversity” great? She was the one that got the ball rolling for the $15/hr minimum wage there. It’s funny when it “turns out” that the “free lunch” money really isn’t free at all!
As the adage goes...Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money.
This might be the one time I would support the Seattle city council to maintain the tax....
Only liberals will spend massive amounts of money fighting over massive amounts of money. In this case taxes. Lawyers make out and citizens get screwed.
They aren’t combatting anything, they’re making more of it.
It is the moral duty of both Amazon and Starbucks to cheerfully pay taxes.
By some accounts, 47 percent of the people don’t care what happens to Seattle.
Well there’s a tax that will remain eternally.
You a$$holes elected the bastards who want to tax you to death.
Good luck with that.
They allowed the Communists to take control of Seattle and now they are going to see the fruits and nuts.
I know only two people from Seattle and both could be roommates at the local Crazy Farm.
They already have ... now trying to pass a LID tax on waterfront condos ... $10K per unit ... to pay for parks.
The tax is on companys making over $20M / year revenue
