Shouldn’t Starbucks be building free heads all over the city?

I have absolutely no problem with a tax like this on big corporations with 1000+ employees. Anything that helps favor the small and mid-sized is a boon. The big corps are just enablers for big government anyway.

Where people should be complaining is how Seattle city government manages all that tax money, particularly their homeless policy. That is a disaster that, in a more sane time, would result in a complete turn-over of city government. Sadly, the insane outnumber the sane in most big cities these days.

Leftist never learn. In Pittsburgh, the city and unions extorted money out of the Steel plants because they thought they had them over the barrel. They’re here and won’t leave so they just have to take it!! Guess what? They left and now the steel business in Southwestern Pa is a fraction of what it once was...

Unfortunately, it’s a no-win situation. If the big companies fight this, it makes them appear like they are heartless stingy, greedy jerks who don’t care anything about the homeless.

I don't see it that way.

As entities not supported enabled by taxes, private companies are aware that if you support the indolent, you are guaranteed to create more of them -- forever.

Only ignorant, arrogant elected criminals could view that as a good thing.

Screw them and the morons who keep re-electing them.

They’ll pay you to relocate.

“Because of liberal benefactors like Amazon and Starbucks, Seattle has a Socialist city council. “

Yeah, which one of them paid for this Indian b!tch Kashima Sawant’s campaign? Isn’t this “diversity” great? She was the one that got the ball rolling for the $15/hr minimum wage there. It’s funny when it “turns out” that the “free lunch” money really isn’t free at all!

As the adage goes...Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money.

This might be the one time I would support the Seattle city council to maintain the tax....

Only liberals will spend massive amounts of money fighting over massive amounts of money. In this case taxes. Lawyers make out and citizens get screwed.

They aren’t combatting anything, they’re making more of it.

It is the moral duty of both Amazon and Starbucks to cheerfully pay taxes.

By some accounts, 47 percent of the people don’t care what happens to Seattle.

Good luck with that.
They allowed the Communists to take control of Seattle and now they are going to see the fruits and nuts.
I know only two people from Seattle and both could be roommates at the local Crazy Farm.
