The Parkland, Florida, school massacre has had little lasting impact on U.S. views on gun control, three months after the shooting deaths of 17 people propelled a national movement by some student survivors, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Wednesday.
While U.S. public support for more gun control measures has grown slowly but steadily over the years, it typically spikes immediately after the mass shootings that have become part of the U.S. landscape, then falls back to pre-massacre levels within a few months.

I guess the California (Palmdale HS, May 11th) and Texas (Santa Fe HS, May 18th) shootings didn't fit template.
Good thing to keep an eye on. It is interesting to note the temporary effect of an extraordinarily intense and expensive attempt in the media (especially CNN) to sway public sentiment on the issue. If it works long enough to get legislation in place, goes the theory, that will suffice and it will never go away. This is contrary to actual history on the issue, at least as far as the AWB went. Not so for other measures, such as the Gun Control Act of 1968 and and the FOPA - I’ll spell that out as a classic case of Congressional mendacity - Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986. So the ratchet has stalled as the public becomes aware that it is a ratchet, and the prohibitionist side must expend massive resources in money and lies in order to continue to twist it. That isn’t any progress toward freedom but it’s something.

So in a progressives world, we need more mass shootings! That’s the leadership of fundamental social change.
I would say that gun control support refused to materialise after three months of fake polls and angry diatribes, so the media is moving forward to find a new way to get humiliated.
If Reuters reports this, it is through clenched teeth and to their enormous chagrin.
I still use both hands when handling a firearm so, gun support is still strong with me...
I wish that were true. But unless the repeated lies are countered and overcome by repeating the truth, the lies eventually win. The results of generations of Leftist brainwashing and lies from pre-school all the way up to and through adulthood, repeated over and over again bear this out. The story of the Delusional Lying Left is the story of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
This Culture War for the soul of America is an ideological fight for hearts and minds. The Left knows this which is why they have been VERY effective. Time for the Right to wise up and fight back with at least as much smarts and determination as the Delusional Lying Left.
