From The Verge: The video was made in late 2016 by Nick Foster, the head of design at X (formerly Google X) and a co-founder of the Near Future Laboratory. The video, shared internally within Google, imagines a future of total data collection, where Google helps nudge users into alignment with their goals, custom-prints personalized devices to collect more data, and even guides the behavior of entire populations to solve global problems like poverty and disease.
Right now, China has a ‘social credit’ system called, ‘Sesame Credit’.
Leftist censorists manipulating truth are usually near the top of any “PROSCRIPTION” list - as when the Constitutional Reformation eventually takes place. I wouldnt give a plugged nickel for their lives at that time.
Hypocrisy has its rewards and betrayers usually get swift justice in accordance to their arrogant crimes.
BOYCOTT THEM
And yet more and more websites (including FR) addicted to the ‘free’ ‘website statistics’ from Google, run google spy-bots on every page.
Yep.
Hunger Games.
Google is evil.
Well, good. Seattle is racist, compared to Sao Paulo. Your car was trying to "woke" you.
Ah yes, the siren call of the do-gooder totalitarians.
These are problems that will never be solved and to pretend otherwise reveals the calculating nature of the person, couching their language to appeal to the low-IQ, utopian types.
“Google is evil.”
The very essence.
Yeah - I switched to using Firefox instead of IE a month ago and last week my FR home page was blipping - and I turned on the developer console and noticed google analytics was freaking out because couldn’t load some google urchin javascript. John/Jim??? What on Earth? Google is Evil. Why do we have to have that garbage enabled on FR just for stats?
The damage is of no matter because they care.
There is a certain beyond-the-pale arrogance in their saying this, when California can't even make the trains run on time.
One might almost root for tectonic activity.
Re: #8. In a socialist country currently the elites have to import their luxuries from free nations. A one world socialism would produce no fancy luxuries for the “elites”. Even they would live with shortages. And the more they oppressed the world the less they would have. Such concepts are beyond the ability of liberals to understand.
Time to break up Google. It seems to me that they are in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. Break it up, just like Standard Oil was broken up.
But seriously, after watching the video I found it to be little more than a letter to Santa. "Dear Santa, I want stuff ! I want a pony ! I want a fire engine ! I want world peace and an end to poverty while you're at it.
All well and good but how are you going to make your wishes come true ? You can't always get what you want and if you try you just might find that there will be unintended consequences from the citizenry in direct relation to how hard the technocrats push their agenda.
Presenting an argument to produce a desired result using statistical analysis of consumer preferences is nothing new, its been ongoing for several decades. The main difference is that now a vastly greater amount of data is at play and the time factor involved in correlating the data points is greatly reduced.
If the dystopian vision of a future wherein one's life is lived according to the rules of the Big Brother Google becomes reality then we've got bigger problems because in order to have gotten to that point the Constitution will have to have been shredded.
Alternatively, the Constitution provides the greatest protection against the dystopian Google uber alles.
May I suggest that, instead of ditching Google we should embrace it. The game can be played in reverse. We know that there are spies in our midst. We can feed Big Brother Google information / data that can skew the conclusions of the AI. In fact, might it be possible that the AI that is cogitating this mass of data points, if it is truly intelligent on some level, could be red-pilled ?
In the meantime I have fun by submitting such queries to Google such as "Google uber alles" just to give it a little tweak.
At least FR lets you block google bots with ‘NoScript’or similar and will show you the threads.. More and more sites will not show you ANYTHING if you don’t let the google spy bots run.
I severed a 35 year relationship with one supplier with whom I spent $5,000 -$25,000 per year because they started requiring half a dozen different google bots before they would show you anything.
Told them why, but they didn’t care. All those ‘free website tools’ that Google ‘gives’ them are more important to them than the few good customers who actually understand what is going on.
You deserve much credit for standing up for what you believe. Most of us, too many of us, just put up with what happens in the world. Doing nothing is sometimes equivalent to being complicit. What worries me is that technology, particularly IT, has grown so quickly such that a huge swath of society have little knowledge of what can be done with it, and what is being done with it.
