It turns out former FBI Director James Comey and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates targeted General Flynn with a counterintel investigation ONE YEAR before his December 2016 phone call to Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the Trump transition.
The reason? Because he was sitting at a table with Vladimir Putin at a Moscow event in December of 2015–the same event Green Party candidate Jill Stein attended. Jill Stein was also sitting at the same table as Flynn and Putin.
This is criminal.

The good news here is that if these specious grounds are sufficient to launch a counterintel investigation, then you probably couldn’t name three Democrats in Washington today who don’t have open FISA warrants for complete personal and electronic surveillance against them.

I don't think that's the real reason. The real reason is that Flynn, at the DIA, questioned the Obama administration's public narrative that Al Qaeda was close to defeat.

I also remember they said Sessions LIED when he said he never met a CERTAIN Russian because he was in the same room with the Russian at some kind of convention/meeting.

What gets me is, that in late 2015, Trump's ascendancy as nominee was still in doubt, IIRC. So, did they realize he was a prime threat to the continued Dem ascendancy, or did they just run game on all the possible contenders?
In the original movie of The Jackal (or the book), there's a scene where the brilliant detective tracking the brilliant assassing after DeGaulle reveals to a high French council that one of them is a right wing spy and conspirator. They ask him, "How did you know whose phone to tap?" He says, "I didn't. Under the powers given to me for this investigation, I tapped all of your phones." Could something like that have happened here?

Prolly not a good investment. Sessions won’t do anything against the cabal.
