Over my entire career I’ve been inside over 7000 houses, many times when the owners were not present. In all that time the only two dogs that ever gave me a problem were a chow and a wiener dog.
The wiener dog was home alone and possessed by satan behind a baby gate in a room I needed to access. The bared teeth, snapping, growls, demonic eyes and insane determination to eat me was something out of a horror flick.
Bulldox, maybe? Except for some of them having shorter legs, they don’t look dachshund to me. No floppy ears, weird looking muzzles. Dogs in a pack behave differently than solo dogs, and it’s possible there is some dachshund blood in that pack, but they are clearly NOT dachshunds. They look like they came from one litter. Those are some of the ugliest dogs I’ve ever seen, though.
The media do the same with people when the perps are Mexicans, Muslims, or "Urbans". These dogs were pit bull mixes, not somebody's little pet dachshund.
How many times have you seen some heinous crime and the media describes the perp as a "young man in his 20s". Truly, the news media is constantly involved in a slight-of-hand, their ongoing war waged on the truth and clarity.
I kid you not: I believe whores and thieves are more respectable than anyone in the news media. I would trust a whore or a thief before I trusted CNN or the New York Times.
They look like pit crosses, but they were obviously not taken care of as they were covered in fleas and ticks. It tells me they had an irresponsible owner. Seven dogs with an irresponsible owner running in a pack is not good news. May she RIP. A horrible death.
Dogs are sacred... ignore, move on...
That is an evil looking beast, and I would not have allowed it to reach adult hood.
I had a little long hired Doxie, and she was just so timid, and sweet.
I have a Maine Coon Cat, and I think if I had had him when I had that Doxie, he could have easily killed her.
That’s a pit bull Doxie cross.
*shudder*
It’s HIDEOUS!
This surely has to be a photoshop. A pit dox?
Cats own the internet
Get a long little doggy
It’s like that mean kid from Toy Story grew up and decided to breed dogs for a living.
(shudders)
The picture of these dogs from another article that were put down were pit bulls or pit bull hybrids.
I wouldnt let wiener dogs take me down. I would pick up a big stick and those weiner dogs would start flying through the air like I was Sauron in LOTR.
All kidding aside this womans mauling was a terrible thing. I wouldnt own a pit bull. I would be afraid for my children and my dogs. It has to be a horrible way to go.
I don’t think so. They look more like Boston bull terriers crossed with dachshunds to me.
Remember, dachshunds were bred to go after badgers, originally.
While I agree with you, I do think the dachshund in them is not a good thing. Some breeds of little dogs are real jerks. We have two chihuahuas in our house who are terribly unfriendly to strangers. This is not a big deal since these dogs weigh less than 10 lbs. and are unlikely to hurt anyone.
If you crossed a chihuahua with a pitbull, and the resulting puppies had the temperament of a chihuahua and the physical ability of a pitbull, you would have the world's scariest dog.
“They look more like Boston bull terriers crossed with dachshunds...”
I had a Boston Terrier who lived to be almost fifteen. Probably the best dog I ever had - smart, easy to train, had a huge heart when it came to mixing it up with a bigger dog, as in, “Don’t come into my yard if you’re not looking for an ass-whooping.” He could even ride a skateboard. 25 pounds of fun and mayhem!
Long haired doxies have entirely different personalities than smooth coated or wire haired doxies. I had a patient once who had a long-haired doxie. She was super sweet. She looked like a little movie star - a black haired version of Lady, from Lady and the Tramp. Smooth coated doxies can be real scrappy if they’re spoiled. They’re very strong willed. Mine is afraid of boxes, and he will growl and snap if you approach him with a box in your hand. I’ve never seen a wire haired Dixie in the flesh, but I’ve heard they have a terrier disposition. (Not pit bull terrier). One of the smartest and best dogs we ever had was a rat terrier. They shed badly, though.
I had a patient who had five spoiled rotten Chihuahuas. Every time I entered the house, some of them would try to nip at my heels. Then I had a lady who’s ancient Chihuahua spent her time in the patient’s lap. When I would approach her to take her blood pressure, she’d have to restrain all 4 pounds of her. She’d try to bite anyone who came near, but she was so old, she didn’t have a tooth in her head, so she was harmless. If you want a lover, not a fighter, get a Shi Tzu. They live to love.
