The Seattle city council just voted 9-0 on an expansive tax that would seek to tax the citys businesses that make over 20 million dollars a year in gross revenues. An earlier proposal that passed last week would have taxed businesses around $500 per employee per year. That measure which passed 5-4 Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan threatened to veto if it reached her desk.

Thanks for that. I have studied this particular area of Seattle extensively and have NEVER come across that. Fitting sadly. Also I was working downtown during the big WTO in 1999—now THAT was a scene to behold for how completely wrong directed these SJW are and were. Pure evil. Pure HATE for capitalism. SF ain’t got nothing on them. They are violent in Seattle.
HAHAHA! I was at the WTO too. I remember walking down either second or third avenue right in front of a line of storm troopers blocking the cross street. I believe it was Spring or Seneca.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Jesus Christ Made Seattle Under Protest”?
It’s an Acronym for the names of the streets starting with Jackson, I believe, and ending with Pine.

Small business is the one that’s going to suffer.
Boeing isn’t going to sit still for this, and they’ve been quiet about it.
I’d buy real estate in South Carolina. The home prices there are going to go up considerably.
Boeing has been getting ready for this. You talk to floor guys and now the tooling is all coming in custom cases with rollers - obviously designed for fast transport.
Management has been bringing in more robotics, and the floor guys have been red-lining the contractors there to slow things down. Break staggering of key people, etc.
I’ve been telling people for a long time that Western WA is the bluest area of the nation, by a long shot. Bluer even than CA. (or Red if Red means commie)
Bellevue, across the lake from Seattle, isn’t that stupid. They have been anticipating the Full Fascist F***tard and are actively offering to move these guys immediately. Renton, Kirkland, Tacoma, and others same.
Nine to zero.
LOL

I wonder if Seattle offered significant tax breaks to these large companies to get them to come there in the first place. If so, the Seattle powers that be have only themselves to blame for the pickle they are in now.
Next step:
A soda tax like NY city!
Its going on in OR and CA too.
Long term engineers are debating if its worth the pain.
Yeah, believe it or not. I’ve worked with a lot over the years and she was good. Hated to lose her. The company I’m with now does not out-source thank God. She’s a U.S. citizen.
