Wasn’t a problem for our Model A. I haven’t tried Ethanol Shield stabilizer. Seems like I researched it and thought that it wouldn’t work.

In my case it has been the best stabilizer I have tried to date with Startron a close second.

My ‘29 Model A doesn't. No fuel pump and that probably makes the difference although the percolation can be heard in the carb. The carb is bolted the exhaust manifold (by design) and the intake is around 12 inches from the exhaust manifold where it connects to the muffler. Again, by design probably so that it starts and runs better in colder temps.

Doesn’t look good for Pacific Ethanol (and heavily invested in by Dims), stock ticker PEIX.

Thanks. I will give it a shot. The car is not driveable right now.

Several years ago I was driving on a day with high humidity and temperature just above freezing. Suddenly my car lost power. I was able to pull to the side of the road before the car quit rolling. I realized the carburetor had frozen up. When it thawed, I stopped at the next gas station and bought some gas antifreeze, essentially ethanol. That fixed the problem.

Why use Ethanol Shield in gasoline that contains no ethanol?

I can get 85 Octane pure gasoline from the pump at a few stations. $2.65

At one time we had a 3 year reserve of grain as a national security issue.
The thought occurred to me that every time the libs bring up global warming, we should agree and bring up real food security....................
But on the other hand, I tend to agree with Adam Smith and the “Invisible Hand.” But we can’t control the Invisible Hand and that makes us uncomfortable and the solution is more government.

Ethanol absorbs water and keeps it in suspension instead of water settling to the bottom of the tank. On older cars, the intake was at the bottom of the tank. Newer cars (fuel injection), the pump is in the tank and intake is close to the bottom but not on the bottom.
What is the source of water? humidity condensation on cold gas. Maybe the neighbor kid................

You can remove ethanol from gasoline with a bit of water and separatory funnel. You can get a 6 liter one on Amazon.

As are “guest worker” programs.

“Ethanol absorbs water and keeps it in suspension instead of...”
Once again, I’m using ETHANOL-FREE gasoline...nothing there to “absorb water”.

I disagree with Trump on this issue since he is for it. Hey, when you enjoy a fish dinner you don’t bitch about finding a bone! But I do think he should change his mind on this issue.

It’s rumored to be available on the Lake of the Ozarks but they want a buck over 87 on the street.

[Why use Ethanol Shield in gasoline that contains no ethanol?]
Because it is a fuel stabilizer above all. However its formulated for stabilizing ethanol based fuel especially to prevent phase separation.
Ethanol free gas is not available in my area so its a moot point for me.

For me, I go to the local private plane airport and buy aviation gas. Since I started doing that I have no more springtime carburetors on small engines to rebuild or lawn equipment to replace. Now instead of draining the fuel for the winter I top off the tanks.
Fires off first pull in the spring and runs great. Even stable can’t keep corn gas alive all winter.

Just found a local Wawa in the Lehigh Valley, Pa. sells ethanol-free gas. Regular gas-$2.99/gal., Ef-$3.45/gal..
