Why use Ethanol Shield in gasoline that contains no ethanol?

Ethanol absorbs water and keeps it in suspension instead of water settling to the bottom of the tank. On older cars, the intake was at the bottom of the tank. Newer cars (fuel injection), the pump is in the tank and intake is close to the bottom but not on the bottom.

What is the source of water? humidity condensation on cold gas. Maybe the neighbor kid................

“Ethanol absorbs water and keeps it in suspension instead of...”

Once again, I’m using ETHANOL-FREE gasoline...nothing there to “absorb water”.
