Telling Russia special counsel Robert Mueller to wrap up his investigation is not up to Vice President Mike Pence, says Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
"That's not Vice President Pence's decision to make," Graham told CNN on Thursday. "I'm sure Mr. Mueller will wrap it up when it gets time to wrap it up."
Earlier in the day, Pence told NBC that a year into Mueller's inquiry, during which the administration has provided more than 1 million documents, it would be "in the interest of the country I think it’s time to wrap it up."
“And I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to conclusion," Pence added.
Mueller's team is looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. President Trump has repeatedly assailed the probe as a "witch hunt."
"The only thing I can say is I haven't seen any evidence of collusion," said Graham, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is also looking into Russian interference. "Mr. Mueller has a good reputation. We'll see what his report says and where he goes, but in the system you can't have the people being investigated tell you to wrap it up."

Lindsey Graham does not have the authority over what answer Mike Pence gives to questions.
VP Pence didn't tell them to end the investigation. He knows decisions regarding this debacle are not under his purview. That is why he said "I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to conclusion".
Respectfully encouraging Mueller to work to a conclusion is absolutely not the same thing as "Telling Russia special counsel Robert Mueller to wrap up his investigation".

When he put up that Obamacare repeal bill I was sure he had a deal with his buddy McCain to kill it,.
