Palin: Hearing that McCain regrets picking me for VP is a 'perpetual gut-punch'

Sarah Palin said Thursday that Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) admission that he regrets picking her as his running mate in his failed 2008 presidential bid is "like a perpetual gut-punch."

The former Republican vice presidential nominee said the senator's recent remarks were "not what Sen. McCain has told me all these years, as he's apologized to me repeatedly for the people who ran his campaign," she told the Daily Mail before speaking at a pro-Trump PAC fundraiser.

In his upcoming memoir, “The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and other Appreciations,” the 81-year-old senator laments not selecting former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) as his vice presidential candidate.

McCain still gives Palin high marks for her work on his campaign.

"I attribute a lot of what we're hearing and reading regarding McCain's statements to his ghostwriter or ghostwriters," Palin told the Daily Mail, saying she would have to hear from McCain herself.

McCain is currently at home in Arizona where he is receiving treatment for brain cancer, but remains a strong voice in the GOP and the Senate where he often criticizes the Trump administration.

So sorry, Sarah. You were USED like a PROP by the Deep State to TRICK Republican voters into thinking McCain was a Republican. You should've known that at the time!

McCain vs. Obama..

Either way, the Deep State gets their man in the White House.

Sarah, if not for you, I would never have voted for this loser.

Super ditto! McStain was (is) such a turd, I thought about sitting out the election. When he refused to say "Barak Hussein Obama" I knew he had lost, probably on purpose.

Palin changed my mind, I held my nose and voted for him. What an angry, bitter old man. He'll draw his last breath being angry, bitter and hateful. What a way to pass.

I agree and truly believe he should have stepped down when he was diagnosed but guess him continuing is to be expected given his ego.

Sorry to hear of your MS, FRiend.

“He made several propaganda films while other POWs were brave patriots.”

While I detest the man, in this modern era of politics, respectfully you don’t have a clue what you are talking about.

McCain was subjected to a whole nuther level of torture.

If you were in subjected to the same, you would have sucked their d!cks, all of them, just to make it go away.

Scumbag.

I think he regrets it because she made the race closer than was planned. Scared him.

.
The laugh is that brain cancer is one of the most easily defeated cancers with natural therapy, but McPain is too arrogant to trust it.

Consider the source. McCain is evil. Without you he was nothing and he is still nothing.

Well its nothing new for the democrats, ie John McCain.

If he had selected someone else for his VP he would have lost by an even larger margin. Sarah Palin is the only thing that energized the conservative base while Mclame continued to stumble and miss step and did nothing but fumble everything. He should have let Sarah do the tough work and he just stay home.

I agree. What he has done since returning from Vietnam makes him both a traitor and an evil man. But he did OK in the face of severe torture in Vietnam.

They say you can’t judge a book by its cover. You can’t always judge it by the first few chapters, either. But in McCain’s book of life, it looks like he just gets worse and worse with time. If he’d died in Vietnam, he’d have died with honor. But the rest of his life has covered him in shame.

I bet McCain’s ghost writer is a Bush or somebody close to the Bushes.
