Don't remember if it was Schwartzkopf or some other manly general we once had. But the story goes that they were briefing reporters who were going to be embedded with U.S. troops and one of the group spoke up that he didn't like the conditions imposed because "We are supposed to be independent reporters."

Said the general, "I admire the principles of independent reporters. I really do. But I don't think our side wants to use our limited resources to protect your independence. A couple of them are going to take your credentials to be embedded on our side and escort you out the door. You can go into town and hire your own driver or escorts to preserve your own independence. Good luck!"

Look everyone that is a reporter does not White House Credentials. Where is it stated that only certain news outlets get to cover the WH?

The thing to do to this pampered group is to pull all the credentials and throw them all of of the WH. Then the Press Secretary call in who they want when they need to hold a briefing and they don’t need to hold one everyday.
