RIYADH/DUBAI (Reuters) - Yemens Iran-aligned Houthi movement said it fired a salvo of ballistic missiles at the Saudi capital on Wednesday - an attack Saudi authorities said they intercepted in the skies over the city.
The assault comes a day after Saudi Arabias top ally the United States pulled out of an international deal with Iran over its disputed nuclear program and could signal an uptick in tensions between regional rivals Riyadh and Tehran.
The Houthis said the missiles were launched at economic targets in Riyadh, the groups al-Masirah TV reported. At least four blasts were heard in the city center, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The Houthis have fired a series of missiles into neighboring Saudi Arabia in recent months, part of a three-year-old conflict in Yemen widely seen as a proxy battle between the Saudis and Iran.
A spokesman for the Houthi-aligned military Colonel Aziz Rashed told al-Masirah TV channel that the attack on the capital and another area marked a new phase and was revenge for Saudi air strikes on Yemen.
There will be more salvos until this enemy is deterred, understands the meaning of the Yemeni threat and ceases its crimes, Rashed said.
He did not mention U.S. President Donald Trumps decision, hours earlier, to pull out of the international nuclear accord with Iran. But there have been fears the U.S. pull-out could exacerbate the conflict in Yemen and other regional flashpoints.

It has not stopped for at least a century after England and the Euro Elites created these Islamic fiefdoms to have a flow of oil.
It’s been going on for months.
For all the US hardware in the Saudi inventory, how about putting some of that weaponry to work.
Or would they rather the US do it?
If the Israel/Saudi coalition takes out Bandar Shapur, it is all over.
If I were the Saudis, I would be nonplussed. This is not very nice.
Three words:

Houthi Youthies.
Probably saving it for Iran itself.
The Houthis are just an annoyance...................
The Houthis can barely arm themselves. Iran is stockpiling missiles in Syria, hoping to replicate these attacks against Israel. Iran’s leaders are insane and cannot be deterred - only killed. Imagine if the Soviets had used North Korea or North Vietnam to fire ballistic missiles at American cities during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. And this is before Iran has deployable nukes. We don’t want to find out what they’ll do once that program is complete. The time to bomb is now.
A FReeper on one of the early Houthi insurgency threads said it best: “rock’n-roll houthi-coup”.
Allah akbar, light your fuse!
How do they know who fired?
1st sentence...................
“How do they know who fired?”
There’s no doubt that the Iranians are becoming the puppet masters of the Middle East. For Iran, Assad is the perfect puppet, because he’s part of a 10% Alawite minority that has faced repeated Sunni Arab revolts over the past 50 years, since the first Alawite (Baathist) ruler took power in a coup against his Sunni Arab predecessor . I sympathize with the Alawites, but their numbers are being attrited* to the point they would have collapsed if not for foreign help. The two things keeping him standing are Iranian-recruited and -paid cannon fodder and Russian air support.
* Sunni Arabs have a 7:1 numerical advantage, but the kill ratio is perhaps (to be generous) 2:1 in favor of the Alawites. At that rate, the Alawites run out of people, long before the Sunni Arabs run out of fighting men. Apart from the Kurds, the other denominations, while opposed to the rebels, would rather flee the country than fight for Assad.
This is the ME. Trust no one.
Heh!
