The Day the Iran Deal Died
Townhall.com ^ | May 9, 2018 | Ben Shapiro

Team Obama lives in a world of fiction.

As President Trump announced to the world that he would finally put a stake through the heart of the Iran deal -- the signal foreign policy "achievement" of the Obama administration -- Obama's former staffers lamented, rending their sackcloth and smearing their ashes. "I will never forget the dark cloud that hung over the White House in the years Iran was advancing nuclear program & Obama was briefed on all the risks of using military force," former United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power tweeted. "Trump has demolished America's credibility & paved the way for Iran to re-start its nuclear program. Trump has done the unthinkable: isolated the US & rallied the world around Iran."

Then there was amateur-fiction-writer-turned-professional-fiction-writer Ben Rhodes, a former Obama national security aide, who tweeted, "One tragicomic element of Trump's presidency is that the more he tries to tear down Obama's legacy, the bigger he makes Obama look." Meanwhile, former Secretary of State John Kerry, who had been traveling the world in an attempt to conduct his own personal foreign policy on behalf of the mullahs, stated, "Today's announcement weakens our security, breaks America's word, isolates us from our European allies, puts Israel at greater risk, empowers Iran's hardliners, and reduces our global leverage to address Tehran's misbehavior."

Obama himself stated, "Walking away from the JCPOA turns our back on America's closest allies."

In hearing all of these honeyed voices speak, one might think that Iran has been acting responsibly for the last three years, that it hasn't been pursuing a campaign of horrific terrorism in Yemen and Syria, that it hasn't been sponsoring the takeover of Lebanon by the terrorist group Hezbollah, that it hasn't been funding the Palestinian terror group Hamas, that it hasn't been developing long-range ballistic missiles while leading chants saying "Death to America." One might think that Obama left the Middle East a bright a beautiful place, not a hellhole filled with human carnage bought with dollars spent by Iran but funneled through the United States.

None of that is true, of course. Obama left the Middle East a smoking wreckage heap -- a situation so grim that even Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan have been forced to ally with Israel to allay fears of an Iranian regional takeover. Obama and his staff lied repeatedly to the American people about the Iran deal -- and they continue to lie. When Kerry says that the deal will "empower Iran's hardliners," he is repeating an outright fabrication: The hardliners are in charge of the government, and the deal strengthened them. When Power speaks as though Obama alleviated the possibility of Iran's nuclear program, she's lying, too: The deal explicitly paved the way for an Iranian nuclear program free and clear of consequences from the international order. When Obama speaks as though our Middle East allies were pleased by the deal, he's lying: They all opposed it, and they're all celebrating its end.

Barack Obama had a peculiar vision of the Middle East remade: Iran ascendant, the power of Israel checked, the Saudis chastened. He achieved that vision at the cost of tens of thousands of lives across the region. President Trump is undoing that legacy. Good riddance.

What do they mean “destroying Obama’s legacy”? The Trump presidency (both terms) is Barack Obama’s legacy.

I just love telling liberals that and watching their heads explode!

What about us?

What about our schadenfreude?

Don’t they know we have to live with this too?

I was listening to President Trump’s statement and it was a bit much.

In Syria the Iranian zealots-militia Hezbollah etc. are fighting Al-Qaeda, they are not supporting Al-Qaeda as stated by President Trump.

Many see this as a perfect situation with Shia Islam zealots backed by Iran fighting Sunni Islam zealots backed by the Saudis and Qataris.

But Israel sees Iran as the arch enemy that must be defeated so a decision has been made in high places to deem the Sunni Al Qaeda zealots as the lesser of two evils.

President Trump did the sword dance when he was in Saudi Arabia last year signaling this tipping of support towards the nation that Al Qaeda came from.

Should read:

Samantha Power tweeted. “Trump has reestablished [demolished] America’s credibility & paved the way for Iran to [re-start] re-think its nuclear program.

Hey, Ms. Powers, Iran has been working on the bomb since 1979 you fool!
The USA is regaining it’s superpower status once again, thanks to Pres. Trump.

Samantha Power is another one that should spend the rest of her miserable life in the custody of the federal department of corrections.

Sunni al Qaeda zealots *are* the *lesser* of two evils in the same way Japan was the lesser of two evils during WWII. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. But it was Germany that had any prospect of conquering Europe and, through that, eventually the world.

Al Qaeda is now reduced to teams of pickup terrorists. Whereas Iran has an ongoing nuclear weapons program, and ballistic missile development to deliver these weapons. And let’s not forget that Iran was a key sponsor of al Qaeda operations. What many people don’t quite understand is that terrorism is an inconvenience we should target vigorously, but it’s large state actors that continue to be our most dangerous threats.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riyadh_compound_bombings
Saif al-Adel and Saad Bin Laden are believed to have ordered the attacks from Iran.[10] According to Seth G. Jones and Peter Bergen, the bombings were planned by al Qaeda in Iran, with apparent Iranian complicity.[11][12] In May 2003, then-State Department official Ryan Crocker provided information on the upcoming attack to Iranian officials, who apparently took no action.[13] Saad was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan in 2009.[14]

Pretty much every single last thing Obama did has now been undone - well except for the staggering increase in our national debt. That I’m afraid can’t be undone.

I find it funny Kerry and the rest of the Obama shills claim this makes Israel more unsafe when Israel itself says the exact opposite. They claim it isolates us. Horsecrap. Ask any of the Arab states. They applaud this. Nobody in Asia gives a crap. Sure the Yurps whine a little....then again they’ve been pocketing the mullahs blood money all along and when’s the last time we were able to actually count on France or Germany for anything? Calling them “allies” is a joke.

Oh ye of little faith. Trumps Ex. Order in March last year gave agencies a deadline for turning in their plans for a reduction in force and shrinking Fedzilla and also froze hiring.

These plans are in the FY2019 budget - just like when you take over a company, first year is study, transition, and plan reductions. Then implement the plan. Link to the OMB document has a nice flow chart on the fifth page - take a look. DJT is going to work on the debt. You can take that to the bank.

The propaganda has been spread about as you present it, there’s no doubt about that.

The poking and prodding attacks by Israel every other day against the Iranians in Syria are leading to what?

The Israeli Energy Minister Steinmetz spoke the other day of Assad being ousted.

Is direct intervention by Israel in Syria and Lebanon the next step?

Hmmmmm.....

Samantha Power.... was an investigation ever done as to why the UN Ambassador, who would never had a need to unmask American’s, requested the unmasking of said individuals? Perhaps Dopey Sessions can get on that.

John Kerry.... is he aware that what he was doing was the very definition of Logan Act violations? Did he give a damn, care or was he concerned at being investigated for such activity? Perhaps Dopey Sessions can get on that.

Ben Rhodes.... an individual with absolutely no experience, whatsoever, in the field that he was hired to operate in, by one of the most corrupt and incompetent administrations this country has ever known. And I’m pretty sure he was leaking information. Perhaps Dopey Sessions can get on that.

Whether people like this or not....all of this leads onto Saudi Arabia probably developing (buying outright) a nuke program within the next year. I’m not sure about this leading onto a positive position, but it’s mostly an absolute fact that Iranians and Saudis hate each other.

I would think McCain would be happy with all this stuff over Iran but Trump’s big challenge is to seal off that southern border.

It hasn’t been done yet and I’m still focused on that rather than being distracted by all the other noise over Iran, North Korea and or the mid-term elections-save Trump from impeachment vote RINO propaganda.

Photo from FOX News via BBC and Arab media:

Pallets of ca$h. Pallets of gold bullion.

How much of this landed in the pockets of these Obama, Kerry, and Powers?

This is a level of bribery and corruption that I almost cannot fathom.

Perfect. I'm stealing that.
