Trump considering ending Giuliani TV interviews: report
The Hill ^ | May 8, 2018 | Brett Samuels

Posted on 05/08/2018 5:57:46 AM PDT by bgill

President Trump has reportedly considered blocking his new attorney, Rudy Giuliani, from making more television appearances in the wake of a series of controversial interviews. The Associated Press reported that Trump and Giuliani speak frequently, but the president has been frustrated with Giuliani's public comments, particularly about a $130,000 "hush money" payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels. Trump was reportedly upset at Giuliani and Fox News host Sean Hannity following an interview last week in which Giuliani explained that Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen, had "funneled through a law firm" the $130,000. Giuliani then revealed that Trump reimbursed Cohen, contradicting Trump's past statement that he was unaware of the payment. His comments appeared to catch the White House off guard. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she first learned that Trump reimbursed Cohen during Giuliani's interview.

Everyone needs to stop running their mouths for the cameras. It'll only be twisted around.

Sometimes smart people aren’t smart enough to know when to stop talking.

And the AP knows this how?

I think this is fake news - Guiliani knows what he is doing - notice that the left talking point that this was an illegal campaign contribution went away.

More garbage from the goats on The Hill.
All part of a concerted effort to make Trump look foolish.
This is a battle being fought in the public forum as well as the courts.

Giuliani is doing just fine. He’s getting the talking points out and everyone is listening. And as far as I can tell, he’s been spot on in what I’ve heard him say.

Connect the dots folks.

Guiliani has been talking Stormy and Cohen for a week. Very little on anything else. He's repeated just about every line the press has put out and a few creative possibilities.

In the meantime, the man who was going to take Cohen down and stop Trump from pardoning him has left the room.

Nice work Rudy!!

Wonder who's next.

I doubt Guliani has said anything that wasn’t cleared in advance.

I’ve done some media events for work. Even though we were doing interviews for industry publications, we still had to take media training and keep it in our heads how to stay on message.

As a US Attorney, Mayor and commentator, Rudy Guliani has been on focus far more than the average guy. He said exactly what he planned to say.

Another point. I have a friend who has managed some state house and senate candidates. He told me when a potential client approaches him, he has a very long private conversation to discuss their past. Deep, deep dive. His last candidate was divorced. He interviewed the ex wife. He said that they need to manage information releases and release it on their schedule, not the oppositions. They then control the narrative. Plus he uses that to decide if he wants to represent the candidate or not.

I agree with you after reading the article. From the AP version: Trump has begun questioning whether Giuliani, an old friend and former New York City mayor, should be sidelined from television interviews, according to two people familiar with the president’s thinking but not authorized to speak publicly about private discussions.

I loved this quote: “according to two people familiar with the president’s thinking”. Who the hell knows what Trump’s “thinking” is? And whom might those two people be?
? Perhaps Trump’s Butler and tailor? DISREGARD every story you read unless Trump tweets it or is verified in the open...The Liars are such liars, and everyone is getting tired of their LIES, LIES, LIES..

Ditto this
NO ONE in or around the President should give any more interviews or airtime about the subject of whores
Let CNN and FOX fill its airtime with rented legal experts who have no connection to anyone and see how many viewers they keep

Yes - Fake News alert!

One learns to spot the planted fake stories almost instantly when one knows what to look for. As you so aptly point out - any phrase such as “familiar with the President’s thinking” is an instant red flag.

Trump should try to suborn Eric Holder and put him back as AG. The man at least has some stones. Get the dude to do a “Kanye West”. Pardon him for having lied to Congress. It’s at least worth a try. If it works, watch Mueller and Obama wet their pants.

“...Eric Holder ...do a Kanye West...”

Hehe! I don’t think we could trust Holder - he might end up being a sort of double agent type.

If it could ever work it would be very interesting.

Maybe the old gray mayor ain’t what he used to be. Still have to trust Trump and his legal team on Giuliani’s selection and use.
