I hate the gas cans the way they are made with a "spill-proof" nozzle and no vent hole. The first thing I did with my new EPA-compliant can is destroy the anti-spill crap and drill a vent hole in them, and plug the vent hole with a screw. Kilt grass doesn’t need to be mowed...
I’ve always found gas to he a great grass killer.
Do they have a HiPo version of those?
I don’t know that those are, but there are all sorts of aftermarket fixes for the sucky gas cans. I maintain four different five gallon gas cans with non-ethanol gas and some Seafoam. I started my generator today with 2 year old gas without difficulty.
It’s probably a felony to “modify” your gas can. I’m sure it is here in California.
You are probably correct, butt... I have yet to hear of anyone being arrested for modifying a gas can. I’ll keep my powder dry for more important stupidity.
Mine cost four times what the previous can cost and broke within two years. American ingenuity - in reverse.
These things are a perfect example of what happens when some do goody bureaucrat who has no experience with gas cans or anything else pertaining to real life decides hes going to save the environment through government regulation
Hate those things. Crap design.
Is this the man who will bring down Trump’s plan to get rid of unwanted gas nozzles?

figFht them. fight them. Fight them.
Drat! I was hoping the title meant the silly regs had been repealed. The “fix” is, as noted by many above, worse than the problem! Typical gov’t “accomplishment”.
Is that shed fire similar to a tragic boating accident?
I have seen CHP in filling stations citing people if they have the old cans and fill them or a new can modified with a vent. One officer became very upset with me when I asked if this is what he imagined himself doing when he first attended the academy. You will also be cited if you fill a 55 gallon drum with fuel. this used to be a common transport but will get you red tagged now with the wrong officer.
In Kali, whatever is not illegal is mandatory. Try parking on even the gentlest slope without cocking your front wheels, and see how it takes to get a ticket...
You have to wonder how much gas has been spilled, and how many fires have been caused, by this horrible government-mandated design. It just does not work.
Wow. Great use of an officers time. Sure is nice theyve solved their violent crime problem in CA and have time for that . . .
That’ll make an exciting pilot episode for the CHiPs reboot.
Ask him what the problem is, hasn’t he heard about “Don’t ask, don’t smell”?
7 May: Daily Caller: Michael Bastasch: SCOOP: Trumps EPA Will Axe Obamas De Facto Ban On New Coal Plants
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans on repealing an Obama-era requirement effectively mandating all new coal-fired power plants be outfitted with unproven emissions technology, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned...

You can drill a hole and put a tubeless tire valve stem in your gas can. Then you just unscrew the valve stem cap to vent. Pretty slick.
