Hi Everybody!
A Hike,
A Ride on the Bike,
And Indian Food Today!
It doesn’t get any better. :-)
No shopping today, huh? Oh, you did it Saturday, didn’t you?
Y’all were a touch warmer than we were. It made it to the upper 70s here. No storms today but there were storms yesterday. Had some COOL lightning but not much rain at the farm.
Didn’t do a lot today. I did run some museum pamphlets to the Veterans Affairs Office this afternoon that I’d grabbed Saturday for them.
A very touching tribute to the Fallen Heroes of Operation Red Wings. Thanks for posting the link!
Howdy, LUV.
Hope you had a good day! I reckon you didn’t go outside any more than absolutely necessary in that heat. UGH!
No argument from me....and a long stay would be good.
Boots for soldiers? Good evening, mountainlion. I didn’t look that far.
Is your snow gone now?
Hi there, radu!
It was a good day, and yes, I did stay inside after it started heating up. Got up to 95 and going up over 100 on Friday. I’m ready for fall already!
Hope your day was nice and you and the kitties could go out to breathe fresh air! Do you have rain in your forecast? Hope it doesn’t get too dry there.
UGH! Just too hot there so early in the year! Can’t blame you a bit for staying in.
Warm here but not nearly like y’all are dealing with. No rain here today but there were a few pop-up showers scattered around. That will be the case most of the week. Typical weather for us this time of year.
We need to dry out a bit so farmers can get the crops planted. Many are way behind already.
The kitties enjoyed not being run inside by rain. :-)
I’ll bet they were happy furballs! That way they can run off their extra energy. Too bad there aren’t more of them that can enjoy the outside! :) Hope you dry out for the farmers to plant and then get nice rains to help those crops grow!
When it starts getting this hot, WY sounds so inviting! Don’t tell my son, though. If I could be a reverse snowbird [sunbird?] I’d do it, but lordy it’s expensive to live there! Their 2-bedroom apt with smallish rooms is $2000 a month! That’s just impossible for us! And our house here is paid for. That’s what keeps us here even though I don’t like it. I’d move to a different spot in Texas if I could afford it. You get to a certain age, and having house payments is just not practical.
They do enjoy going out again. They be out there now if they had their way but not any more. We never know when the coyote packs will be close by, and they’ve been too close several nights lately.
That’s just outrageous the amount they charge for rent up there. But then, it’s almost as bad in our large cities. Nashville, any way. That’s a bigger deterrent than the cold and snow of winters up there. LOL
That reminds me .... it was snowing for a short time at the vacant GGO nest last night! BRRRRRR
Brrr is right! No wonder those poor owls gave up on having babies. They knew what kind of year this was going to be. Maybe Altera did, too....and the Latvian owls. I hope they have a better year in 2019.
No telling why those owls didn’t lay this year. The MT GHOs did just fine with their 3 owlets ... other than choosing that magpie nest. LOL!
Lil storklets are popping out like crazy now. Been checking in on those nests, having to wait for the brooding parents to stand up so I could see what was going on. Now I can check in on everyone else. LOL
Iwas watching the Montana owls this afternoon, and it was as if the mom was sitting on a branch hooting to try to get somebirdie to hop up to a branch. But, as far as I know they didn’t. There’s no room to even flap a wing on that nest. LOL!
Hope all the storks do well. I checked the Berry Baby and it’s still down below the nest, complaining because it can’t get back up yet. Of course, the chatters are worried that she won’t have the strength to do it. I am pretty sure she will, but if not, the people in charge would rescue her, I’m sure.
Woohoo....the trifecta!!
Good morning, ML...((HUGS))...a great day for you and Penny!!
I checked on the GHOs earlier and it seemed more like Momma was on the limb because there just isn’t any room on the nest with the owlets any more. LOL! They fill it up. She got on the nest once and I was afraid she’d knock one of the kiddos off.
I don’t know when they hatched but they don’t look quite old enough to start branching yet. Shouldn’t be much longer though.
According to what was posted at the Berry site, they don’t seem concerned about B10, though they’re keeping an eye on her. So far, so good and she’s about ready to fledge any way. I saw her in the tree when I checked on her this afternoon.
I’m steeled for stork losses as there’ll be some this year. Too many storks laid too many eggs this year and that’s always bad. The youngest won’t make it. Tobias and Sara’s youngest is already in trouble. :-(
Taking a moment’s breather? :-)
