Global tourism accounts for 8% of total worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, four times more than previously believed, new research says. Some gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat in the atmosphere, producing a "greenhouse effect," and so make the planet warmer. The amount of greenhouse gases released by a particular activity is referred to as its "carbon footprint." The increasing carbon footprint of global tourism between 2009 and 2013 represents a 3% annual growth in emissions, according to University of Sydney researchers.
Their paper was published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change.

“Some gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat in the atmosphere, producing a “greenhouse effect,” and so make the planet warmer.”
In the 1970-80’s trapping carbon in the atmosphere led to a cooler planet.
Once again I reiterate. CO2 IS PLANT FOOD DAGNABBIT!
Fact is that actual green houses burn gas to generate CO2, but it is to feed the plants, not for greenhousing purposes which the clear plastic is already doing.
It is the cloud cover which creates green house effect, not CO2.
Fill a giant green house with O2 and one with CO2 or methane, no temperature difference would show.
What happens is that ice traps dissolved CO2 and is why icecubes are blurry. So when the polar caps melt because the Earth is closer to the sun, CO2 is released.
The carroting in the South Pole indicate that as plant life grew during warmer period , the CO2 was on the increase too despite plants trapping carbon. The reason is the system allows plants to develop by releasing all its atmospheric materials when the ice melts
I am sill to be that the teams working with the Soviets at Vostok observed this and in bad faith decided to say that CO2 causes warming when it was warming which causes CO2 levels to rise. This is direct Soviet propaganda
9 times the carbon footprint of coach. The only time I've flown first class internationally was a short hop from Phuket to Bangkok on 747. I got a free upgrade somehow.
It was only an hour, but it was great!
I was thinking “business class” meant three hops instead of one non-stop flight.
Something I like to think about once in a while for grins:
There are at least 500,000 people flying RIGHT NOW.

Since they got politically correct global warming badly wrong the first time, who cares what they say now?
I wonder when these fools will go after CO2 shielded arc welding.
Soda pop? Beer?
Next big Liberal push, banning meat! After all cattle farts are a major source of Methane. These worthless turds would probably kill all animals if they had a chance, when all they really need to do to “save the planet,” is kill themselves!
OK, then. Stop traveling and giving your money to these people in other countries. Also, no more foreign aid or military aid.. I hope they’d like that. Losers.
Yup! The stupidity of purity!
Here Comes the Meat Tax
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2017/12/should-meat-cost-more-than-gold/548264/
...The person who eats 400 pounds of animal meat every year is treading on the environment for others, and so a meat tax could be implemented as a matter of protecting personal liberty. Eating that way wouldnt be illegal, but people who choose to do it would have to pay for the imposition of their choices on others.
Gee what about the carbon footprint of the mass migrations of illegal immigrants?
I get a tickle out of those complaining about the bottle water on a cruise ship.
Where do the add the salt for ocean water?
...study says..... ...research says...

Blah....blah....blah....blah. Same old, same old.
Well let’s keep the mexicans out...
Good. Don’t let any more educ. visas and H-1Bs into the country.
