When you cross the stage to get our diploma at UF. Is that wrong?
And the weak kneed president of the university crawls to Twitter asking for forgiveness.
Irony, as usual, is thin on the ground.
‘We have dignity! Respect our intellect!’ they harangue us constantly with unilateral demands.
‘OK, we will. You’ve attended university and you are now ostensibly a) educated and b) an adult. Why, then, launch a Mr Bojangles routine?’
What isn’t shown on stage is the absolute din their idiot families make among the spectators. They hoot, holler, scream, etc. as if they’re at a football game.
Calling something a tradition doesn’t make it correct and doesn’t mean it isn’t disruptive.
Some people have been coddled for so long they believe they are above criticism.
Garcia-Wilde said “strolling” across stage is a commencement tradition for black fraternities and sororities at the University of Florida.
So commencement has now become an event like Soul Train? Look at me!!! Look at my moves!!!
I recall the claim of some Hindu leaders in India, who claimed that burning widows at the funeral of the husband was tradition.
The English administrator said, “Very well. We also have a tradition. We hang people who burn widows. You go forward with your tradition, and we will proceed with ours.”
They want all the benefits of Western civilization, but do not wish to take any of the responsibilities.
That is what happens when the quota warriors subsidize a worthless diploma for people who probably have no business attending a University
I watched the video. The black students were being disrespectful to everyone else there.
The last time I went to one of these, it took hours, and part of it was due do things similar to this, someone has to stop, take a selfie, clown to crowd, etc.
It is inconsiderate and disrespectful, especially if there is a large class graduating. I am all for people having fun and enjoying the day, but 10-30 sec. per student can make people grit their teeth who have other things planned.

Furthermore, white graduates who take longer than absolutely necessary to cross the stage will henceforth be culturally appropriating the blacks’ rite of passage.
In this case their “stroll” intentionally flaunts custom and tradition.
It is a conscious act daring anyone to react in any way they can call racist.
They do the same thing on sidewalks and in the malls.
Lining up abreast and slowly “strolling” to block the walkways.
What is “permitted” is what will continue.
Parenting 101.
Something honestly, these kids I think are lacking.

Maybe all the real students should just skip the ceremonies and let the gong show artists do what they want to do. After all, it's probably a miracle that most of them are "graduating" to begin with. And this is probably the last chance they'll have to prance around like that without getting fired.
The serious students should boycott until the administration comes to its senses.
Going to my nephew’s graduation on Saturday. He’s graduating with an Electrical/ Computer Engineering dual degree from a school whose name ends in “IT”. Don’t think they’ll be much mugging, clowning and disrespecting going on at commencement. I could be proven wrong but I doubt it.
I live in a culturally diverse community.
I’ve had to tolerate this kind of crap a few times regarding my kids. At least my kids see how animals behave. They are not normal, they are not like us.
For the 5percent that are normal, must be pretty embarrassing

It's telling that these "graduates" don't know the difference between an usher and a professor in a doctoral gown.
My tribe in the south had traditions too

There were white graduates who did the same thing, and they were treated exactly the same.
Sounds like we are enforcing "separate but equal". Blacks demand "separate" procedures and protest when they are treated equally (aka like everyone else). Odd, total bizarro.
Just wait till the rest of the 3rd world gets here Mr president..

They will do anything, anywhere, anytime, no matter how petty or self destructive, even, to frag Whitey, his customs, his events, his rituals.
If you think about it, this is why there are laws against disrupting religious services... so primitives can not disrupt something of significance among cultures of civilized individuals.
They will, if they are candid, tell you as much: They enjoy pissing off and disrupting Whitey's events and customs.
Because they are primitives without any sense of decorum or shame, they do this to their own extreme humiliation. Would that they knew how they were humiliating themselves.
But then, they wouldn't be the primitives that they are.
