Special counsel hits snag in bringing a criminal case against Russians

Special counsel Robert Mueller's office appears to be in an early stalemate in its efforts to bring a criminal case against Russians allegedly involved in Moscow's efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election. Although one Russian company indicted by Mueller in February, Concord Management and Consulting, has US attorneys and a court hearing scheduled, the special counsel's team hasn't been able to reach the company or its co-defendants.

The Russian government's top legal office wouldn't accept paperwork from US law enforcement in the case, and the company has already hit back at Mueller by demanding more evidence and information.

The tit-for-tat was revealed in a court filing Friday when Mueller's prosecutors asked to reschedule a hearing about the criminal case against 13 Russians and associated companies, who allegedly influenced the election using social media. The hearing was set for May 9.

The situation shows how difficult it will be for Mueller to bring Russians to justice for allegedly interfering in the 2016 election.

Prosecutors also said US-based defense attorneys for Concord Management and Consulting, from the law firm Reed Smith in Washington, DC, have sought details about evidence Mueller's office collected in the case.

The Russian company's attorneys asked for information about other employees who Mueller considered to be co-conspirators or who weren't charged in the case, the US people who communicated with the Russians, and recordings and other electronic surveillance of the company's employees.

The company's attorneys also asked for information about the past seven decades of US policy toward other countries' elections, especially regarding " 'each and every instance' from '1945 to present' where the US government 'engaged in operations to interfere with elections and political processes in any foreign country,' " according to the prosecutors' court filing.

It’s a show trial in the media and isn’t actually supposed to go to court.

“A culture of corruption that rises to the TOP RANKS OF THE PARTY” as they proclaimed in 2006. Another year of partisan charges that didn’t bear fruit. But it did hand Congress over to Peelousy and Conmanreid.

The only reason why James “Dirty Cop” Comey’s good pal would go after Russians is to get them to flip on DJT.That Federal judge explained this whole matter very well indeed just yesterday.

You can bet Herr Müeller doesn’t want to open that can of worms, especially in light of Obama’s blatant interference in Israel’s elections.

Indicting people for “trolling” in a [supposedly] free country is the height of stupidity to begin with.

a complete farce and CNN reports it as if it’s news, and as if it is real.

no-one working at CNN is forced to stay there, yet they don’t resign. how can they bear working for a straight-up propaganda machine?

and the same goes for virtually all the other media companies. all credibility is gone.

Easy:
1. Its a nice paycheck
2. They get to be on TV
3. They hate us, Trump and the Constitution
4. In their minds, #3 justifies everything they do

So far, Mueller has spent upwards of $10MM $17MM on wild goose chases.

There, updated the amount. It's $17 million and counting. Most of that money is going into the pockets of Mueller and his henchmen.

Gee I didn't see that coming. /sarcasm

There are only three reasons for Mueller's actions:
A) Mueller is stupid
B) Mueller is just putting on a show
C) Both

I for one can't make up my mind which answer is correct, however, I lean heavily to option C.

Mueller’s also very butt-headed and impervious to exculpatory evidence — five years trying to frame the innocent guy in the anthrax case, and keeping the innocent guys in the Boston case locked up.
