An editor at The Denver Post who oversaw an editorial critical of budget and staff cuts made by the newspaper's New York-based hedge fund owners has resigned.
Editorial Page Editor Chuck Plunkett
...
The Post last month published Plunkett's initial editorial headlined "As vultures circle, The Denver Post must be saved," calling on Alden to sell the newspaper.
...
Plunkett said he was warned afterward "not to bite the hand that fed us" but couldn't stay silent.

The Denver Post is doomed, and Colorado residents are hoping that their very liberal (and therefore biased and not very smart) staff will take their little Obamabutts outta there to Boulder or preferably, California.
I hear Starbucks is hiring.
This editor just got a lesson in the cold hard reality of budgets and economics. There is no magic money machine that’s going to fund a dying, unprofitable newspaper. If he wants to “save” the paper, then volunteer to work for a 50% salary cut. Any bets on whether he’s willing to do so?
They will outsource content to syndicates (AP, Reuters, UPI, et al) and bloggers like everybody else.
Ain’t globalism wonderful?
Ain’t outsourcing wonderful?
Until it hits in your own backyard.
The time is ripe for independent newspapers to start up and practice real journalism. Subscriptions would go through the roof. The people are starving for verified facts.
He resigned. Doesn't that equate to a 100% pay cut?
Nobody wants to hear the inexperienced opinions of the liberal Denver Post. They are nothing. Smart phone comments are more interesting. Competition exists and they squandered their money.
LOSERS who ruin a good town. May he ride his crappy Denver electric trains.
Editorial Page Editor Chuck Plunkett.
Looks like Chuck’s a tom cat on the prowl - meow!
Bottom line: People do not want to pay to read what the Editor of the Denver Post and his staff writes. Bad investment from the hedge fund.
That doesn’t save the paper. If he really cares, he’d continue to work there for 50% of his current salary.
Hahaha. It is entertaining to watch such yellow “journalism” vehicles bite the dust. Hahaha.
Our local paper is 99% negative in its editorials, all against Republicans. So we just quit paying for it.
Plunkett - the sound you hear when you drop your cell phone in the toilet.
The guy is a hack who covered up the Mayor Hancock prostitution story.
If this fake news fish wrap can’t make it financially in liberal Denver!
Can any American/British/Euro fake news fish wrap make it financially?
Probably not without funds from George $oreA$$ and left wing CEO’s paying for advertising rates based on Fake subscriptions.
Bingo!
Bottom line: People do not want to pay to read what the Editor of the Denver Post and his staff writes. Bad investment from the hedge fund.
Their Fake News garbage posing as news is aimed at druggies, snowflakes, millennials and other worthless liberals.
Why would anyone with a real business with real products or services waste valuable funds advertising in this dying fish wrap?
Democrat proposal to force taxpayers to start subsidizing dead-tree media coming in 3.....2......1.....
It would be less irritating if they posted more positive editorials but they are hamstrung by their obsession with hurting Republicans. It must be frustrating to see real scandals that you have to ignore because they involve Democrats when all you can cover is a Russian narrative that never goes anywhere and porn stars.
