On April 21 Breitbart News reported on a NRA-ILA statement which said Yeti Coolers had cut ties with the NRA Foundation.

The statement, written by former NRA president and USF executive director Marion Hammer, said, “Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.”

Hmmm. Pretty sure somebody posted a commentary from Yeti yesterday stating that the NRA mis-understood what Yeti had done concerning the NRA Foundation. So, which is it? I don't know but if I paid that kind of money for a cooler, pretty sure I wouldn't be bustin' it up. I don't have that kind of cash to throw away. But that's me.

I was wondering the same thing. Is this an overreaction by the NRA, or is YETI now realizing it made a serious mistake and it's trying to backpedal?

Anyone got any clearer information on this?

So, if they really feel this way, how POd would you be if you just blew up your $500 cooler? LOL! And we talk about the libs “jumping the gun” before they have a clear understanding of what’s going on. ;-)

"...that kind of cash to throw away..."

The quick resolution is to place pro-RKBA decals over the pathetic current Yeti logos.
Future purchases can come from patriotic vendors like Orion Coolers, RTIC Coolers, and Pelican Coolers.
I am contemplating a decent purchase from one of those three solid companies as we speak.

If your majority of customers are gun owners, it’s not a good business practice to piss them off.................

What does a $500 cooler do? Toss in an extra chunk of dry ice to keep things cool.

I don’t own a Yeti cooler. I do have a couple of cups. I did peel the Yeti sticker off my truck yesterday. I heard that Walmart sells a cup called Ozark that is a third the cost and just as good. Going to get one and see. If true, my Yeti’s are gone. Unless Yeti change course before I get to Walmart.

If I paid $500 for a cooler, I’d expect it to pop off the pull-top of the can and put it in my hand, then throw the empty in the trash.

there was trouble with an IPO, maybe that has something to do with it. The ONLY reason I know about them is that every hunting show has a YETI cooler on it, someplace or another. I don’t get the logic of what they have done. The people who have promoted these things like pro hunters will be quick to get rid of them I think. Don’t believe YETI either. They stepped in it intentionally and are now aghast in horror over what is going to happen. I won’t use a guide service, fishing or hunting that uses YETI and I won’t watch any hunting or fishing show that has YETI on it.

"...not a good business practice..."

Agreed. The lame response from Yeti corporate offices was a day late and a dollar short. It smelled of desperate damage control.

Blah blah blah...they fail the stupid test. Anyone with a functional brain would have known how their so-called discount program change would have been perceived.

The oldest adage in the marketing world is “Perception becomes reality”. Now Yeti can perceive their market turning to shite because of a stupidly ill-timed and poorly executed decision.

Anyone who pays more than about $50 for a cooler is paying too much. It’s a damn insulated box.

LOL! Maverick gas stations still have those styrofoam coolers available. Or you can sometimes find them on the side of the road or abandoned at camp sites. ;-)

I'm not disagreeing with you.

However, I find it curious that a corporate entity that has historically supported 2A and the NRA (and is now attempting to explain its action) is seemingly incurring far greater wrath from gun owners than other companies that are and always have been in-your-face anti-gun.

Just saw this on Twitter - consider buying RTIC products instead of Yeti:

They had only changed their product line and NRA used it as an opportunity to gin up donations in a somewhat dishonest manner.

They really don’t need to.

A traitor is always viewed more harshly than someone who is simply an enemy and who has always been an enemy.

For example, I'm pretty sure Benedict Arnold is hated more in the US than any comparable British officer (except, maybe, Banastre Tartleton).

As I understand it they reduced the value of the programs. NRA was correct,
