New York magazine writer Jessica Pressler declared onApril 15 that Cynthia Nixon had pushed Gov. Andrew Cuomo so far to the left that the actress had already won the Democratic nomination for governor.
Mic writer A.P. Joyce pointed to Cuomos executive order that gives paroled felons the right to vote, along with an agreement to end the power-sharing agreement between the state Senate GOP caucus and Democrats who often sided with the GOP as evidence of Cuomos new lean to the port side of New York state politics.
While some progressive activists cheered her entry into the race, many established New York Democrats attacked her candidacy as a political stunt, Joyce wrote. Nixon, however, is proving she doesnt need experience to effect change for progressives. She just has to keep running.
Less than a month into her campaign, Nixon is already gaining ground with voters.
A Siena College poll released April 17 showed Cuomo led Nixon 58-27 percent. A wide margin to be sure, but it was 16 percentage points better than the 66-19 percentage point lead Cuomo had over Nixon in March before she announced her campaign.
Since the last Siena College poll, Nixon declared her candidacy, Senate Democrats promised kumbaya, there was public debate over the definition of qualified lesbian, and Nixon appears to have secured the Working Families Party line for November, said Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg.
The race has just started and theres still five months to go. In a variation of Bette Davis famous line: fasten your seat belts; its going to be a bumpy ride, Greenberg added.
Nixons ability to wrest the Working Families Party endorsement away from Cuomo was termed a milestone in a New York Times article.

He was always way far Left, he's a kooky Marxist/statist
Just as New Yorkers got tired of Mario and dumped him for a no name Pataki.
RE: He was always way far Left, he’s a kooky Marxist/statist
Neighboring Pennsylvania has created thousands of jobs and generated hundreds of millions on revenue because they are doing fracking. They have been doing that safely for years.
New York could do it too except for the concern that it could cause pollution. At the turn of the century, a study was made to determine the environmental impact of fracking in New York ( as if PA did not make the study before ). It was studied to death by both the State and the Federal government.
The results of the study were the same — as long as adequate safeguards and reasonable regulations are in place, there would be little impact on the environment.
Then Democratic governor Patterson could have approved fracking but he still wanted MORE STUDIES. So, back to square one.
4 years later, after Andrew Cuomo took over, the study results were the same as the original. So, what did Andrew Cuomo do? HE UNILATERALLY BANNED FRACKING giving as his reason — his concern for the environment ( in contradiction to the results of the many studies ).
Cynthia Nixon or Andrew Cuomo, it does not matter. The results are still going to be the same.
Maybe the time is ripe to bring back the idea of splitting New York into two states.
The population of the state is about 20 million with about 11½ million in the greater NY City area and 8½ million in the rest of the state.
There are still plenty of level headed people who reside upstate where much of the area is rural, farmland, small towns, mountains and wilderness.
But they don't stand a chance in statewide elections where they are steamrollered by the leftists and moochers downstate.
NY STATE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULTS BY COUNTY
Yes of course, they are both far Left. NY is a sh*thole, it leads the country in people fleeing, taxes, expensive education, poor education results, welfare, fees, red tape, environmental regs, etc.

Jimmy Buffett "I-95 Song" (AKA "The A-hole Song")
Well I was drivin' down I-95 the other night,
somebody nearly cut me right off the road.
I decided it wasn't gonna do any good to get mad,
So I wrote a song about him instead.
It goes like this:Were you born an a-hole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine,
'Cause you're an a-hole tonight.Yes you're an A-*-*-H-*-*-E
And don't you try to blame it on me,
You deserve all the credit.
'Cause you're an a-hole alright.You were an a-hole yesterday,
You're an a-hole tonight.
And I got a feeling,
You'll be an a-hole the rest of your life. And I was talkin' to your mother
Just the other night,
I told her I thought you're an a-hole.
She said, "Yes, I think you're right."And all your friends are a-holes
'cause you've known them your whole life.
And somebody told me,
You've got an a-hole for a wife.
Maybe pubbies in NY can change their party for the upcoming primary, to give Cuomo a run for his money.
LMAO!! Too bad the young folks won’t get it.
Amazing the Hunt won.
The Working Family’s Party endorsed Nixon over the objection of several major unions in Cumomo’s pocket, meaning she’ll be on the general election ballot after Cumomo slaughters her.
But party leaders insist they’ll threaten her to drop out if (when) that happens.
Ping to 31
Good for gop in state Senate and Congress races
Wfp chaos
I’d laugh too. And i live here lol
A left of lefts faggot ex actress.

Sunny poconos is only 90 minutes away and is calling me to come live there.
So sad it’s funny.
Hope you’re well bro :)
I don’t blame you. Poconos always sounds good to me since I live where it gets above 110 degrees in the summer.
The Poconos is a toilet be careful where you go.
110 degrees.
My fat body would collapse in 25 seconds and that would be the end of my new life in a new state :)
