~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi Keesler Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located in Biloxi, a city in Harrison County, Mississippi, United States. The base is named in honor of aviator 2d Lt Samuel Reeves Keesler, Jr., a Mississippi native killed in France during the First World War. The base is home of Headquarters, Second Air Force (2 AF) and the 81st Training Wing (81 TW) of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The Second Air Force mission is to provide the best-trainined, combat-ready forces. To carry out this mission, Second Air Force manages all operational aspects of nearly 2,700 active training courses taught to approximately 150,000 students annually in technical training, basic military training, medical and distance learning courses. Training operations across Second Air Force range from intelligence to computer operations to space and missile operations and maintenance. Keesler AFB is also the home of the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron (EIS), of the 688th Cyberspace Wing (CW), which is the Air Force's only active duty EIS. The almost 200 AFSPC Airmen and Civilians of the 85th EIS can design, engineer, and install the full range of C&I equipment and components typically found at a fixed site and other specialty systems unique to expeditionary forces. They are also the only organization in the DoD to provide specialized engineering services such as electromagnetic hazard and interference investigations and High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protection. During contingencies, the 85th EIS can deliver their unique skills to the warfighter within 72 hours. The 403rd Wing is the largest flying organization at Keesler, and the only Air Force Reserve Command wing in Mississippi. With a military manning authorization of more than 1,400 reservists, including 250 full-time air reserve technicians, the wing performs dual missions: tactical airlift support during peace- and war-time contingencies, and aerial weather reconnaissance supporting the Department of Commerce. Learn More About Keesler Air Force Base HERE!! FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Hey there, radu!
It was an excellent day. Slept late, didn't do much, took Peaches for his yearly shots. He wasn't too happy. Then sat on the patio and admired the 1/2 moon.
Hope yours was good. Also hope that it was warmer there so you could actually enjoy the day! Did your kitty have a diagnosis for his face today?

Sounds like a good day for you. Maybe not so much for Peaches. LOL
Today was pretty much the same as yesterday .... coolish and wet. We’ll warm up into the 70s and start drying out by Thursday.
That lump on Pandy’s face turned out to be a cyst. The vet drained a bunch of fluid out but said it’ll fill up again. We’ll just deal with it that way each time it gets full. With her age and heart murmur, he didn’t want to do surgery to remove it and since it isn’t anything malignant, there’s no need to risk it. She’ll be fine. WHEW!

Hiya radu!
Oh, I shopped all over the place, 4 stops, and that's a lot for my short attention span, LOL.
But I did need 'stuff' so it got done!
Our weather is beautimous, with high '70's, and '80's coming up this week.
Your day OK?

4 stops? Hey, ya done good! LOL!
Now to hope you didn’t forget anything.
It was another cool, cloudy, soggy day here. Drove through a couple of deluges on the way to the vet’s and back with Pandy. For now the rain is giving us a break but we’ll probably get more before the night’s over.

Well that’s a HUGE relief that it can be easily dealt with by draining. I know you were worried! Peaches hates to be in the carrier, in the car and at the vets. He was the loudest voice in the waiting room. LOL!
Sorry it was still kind of crappy there. Know you are looking forward to those warmer, drier days to come!

LOL! It had to hurt when you realized you’d forgotten it and it was ON the list. Oh well, it gives you something to do tomorrow, or Wed. after you get finished with work. :-)

DEFINITELY a huge relief. I’d never seen a cyst like that before. Easy enough to deal with, at least. If she was younger, and didn’t have the murmur, it could be removed.
She’s quiet as a mouse during trips to the vet though she isn’t happy about it. Avatar is the total opposite, yowling the whole time. He makes the weirdest sounds, almost like he trying to form words. The meows are multi-syllable and crack everyone up.
We knew it would be another crappy day. They initially said it would be like this all week but changed the forecast today. Now we’ll be dry beginning Thursday. We need sunshine and warmer temps for the wheat and the heat comes in Saturday.

I hope for her sake that it is a slow-growing cyst so she doesn’t have to go in to have it drained too often.
Peaches hardly ever opens his mouth here at the house except to ask to go “aooowt”, but once he’s in the crate, he is loud! I guess he knows that lockdown is for no good reason! LOL!

Graduate of Hewes Hall there back in 1979.

We’ll just have to see how it goes. I have no idea how long it’s been there to begin with because large as it was, it was covered by her long Persian hair. It’s not in a spot that I normally touch when petting her.
I think most cats know what the carrier means. A trip to the eeeeeeeeevil doctor! LOL! Ours see it and they bolt from the room.
Most of them yowl the whole way to the vet and don’t make a sound on the way home. Avatar yowls the whole time.

Yep, there’s a lot of stuff that can be hidden under all that hair! LOL! Kind of glad mine are short-hairs just for that reason.
Rats! My allergies are raging tonight. Maybe because I breathed actual fresh air and my lungs aren’t used to it.
