CHINA SAYS 32 NATIONALS DEAD IN MAJOR NORTH KOREAN BUS CRASH
By Ben Blanchard
BEIJING (Reuters) - Thirty-two Chinese tourists and four North Koreans died in a major bus accident in North Korea, China's foreign ministry said on Monday, with two Chinese nationals seriously injured and left in critical condition.
Chinese visitors make up about 80 percent of all foreign tourists to North Korea, says a South Korean think-tank, the Korea Maritime Institute, which estimates that tourism generates revenue of about $44 million each year for the isolated country.
Chinese diplomats have rushed to the scene of Sunday's accident in North Hwanghae province, the foreign ministry said.
In a Twitter message earlier on Monday, Chinese state television's English-language channel said a tour bus had fallen off a bridge, killing more than 30 people, but later deleted the message.

P!
I spent 13 months in South Korea at the behest of my Uncle and I wouldn't spend a penny to visit there.
I didn’t know they had a bus.
Yep, they were definitely tourist-all thirty-two. Not a chance any were Chinese government officials aiding and abetting the little North Korean with the bad hair cut. So eighty percent of tourist are Chinese. The Chinese diplomats rushed to the scene to remove all evidence of any info that would point to the Chinese government. Many of us were born at night, but none of us were born last night.
The bus driver’s reaction: “I’m not going to be president.”
That's how they escort tourists en masse to see what whatever Kim is in charge wants them to see.
Or not.
What exactly do the Chinese see in NK to visit??? Do they get to see the Gulags and watch an actual torture event? Watch a nuke missile launch? What does the little fat punk possibly have there to go see?
Chinese visitors to NK usually say it is the primitive nature of NK that attracts them, and reminds them of China from a generation or two ago. Probably their tourist money goes a lot farther in NK.
And note that South Korea attracts far more Chinese tourists than NorK.
Yeah, I guess they could choose between going to NK, or downtown Detroit, the south side of Chicago, east LA, or one of the other crap holes in a big city in the USA. Nothing like going to one of our downtowns and hoping you get out alive, before having your throat slit or died from a gunshot in a drive by shooting. Your pick I guess.
a year working in the Command center in Yong Son.
Lived off post.
The Korean people are the hardest working folks I have ever seen.
They treated me wonderfully the entire time i was there.
Traveled the country side to get the hell out of Seoul a monster large city.
Never had a problem and would go for a visit in a minute if I could afford it.
+1. Great minds.
