Subtitle: Covering Hillary Clintons campaign from before it started to the very last moment.
Things were already looking bad when Chelsea Clinton popped the Champagne. It was just after 9 p.m. on election night and she was having her hair and makeup done in the familys suite at the Peninsula hotel. She stopped to pour what somebody told me was Veuve Clicquot into everyones glasses, figuring that in a couple of hours Donald Trumps run of early victories in red states (West Virginia, Oklahoma, Alabama) would end and the map would turn back in her moms favor.
Three hours later, the Rust Belt was awash in red, and somebody had to tell Hillary Clinton.
Robby Mook, the drained and deflated campaign manager, told his boss she was going to lose. She didnt seem all that surprised.
I knew it. I knew this would happen to me, she said, now within a couple of inches of Mr. Mooks ashen face. They were never going to let me be president.
In July 2013, Jill Abramson, the former executive editor of The New York Times, put me on the Hillary beat ahead of the 2016 election. It was 649 days before Mrs. Clinton would announce she was running for president again, 1,226 days before she would lose to Mr. Trump.
Every major life decision in my 20s and 30s when to get married, where to buy an apartment, whether to freeze my eggs until after the election had revolved around a single looming question: What about Hillary Clinton?

"They"? Well, "they" isn't the Democratic Party since, other than a few Berniebots, they rolled out the red carpet and the rose petal strewn path for her - primary results be damned.
"They" aren't the press since they had their noses so far up Hillary's butt that the only thing you can still see a year and a half later are their heels.
"They" aren't the Republican Party since they were setting up an election with all the fight of Obama against Romney.
I guess the only "They" remaining to prevent Hillary from becoming president were Donald Trump and the American people. And thank God they were there to do it.
Thank heaven they didnt let that evil lying beeetch get anywhere near our White House! They, whoever they may be, have our deepest gratitude
Really!
Or else “they” will shut you up..?
In a way it does.
These losers have no intention to shut up and move on with life...like normal adults would do.
As in "They" killed President Kennedy.
The author does have an interesting moment of partial clarity:
“Of course, these outside forces wouldnt have mattered or weighed so heavily on me, on the country, had Hillary Clinton, her campaign and her longtime aides the same box of broken toys whod enabled all of her worst instincts since the 1990s not let the election get so close in the first place. The Russians, after all, didnt hack into her calendar and delete the Wisconsin rallies.”
Well, if you ignore the implication at the beginning regarding russian interference.
The author freezes eggs? Oh. She’s talking about HER eggs.
How could they all look so sad on one of the happiest nights in my life?
She meant “God was never going to let me be President.”
Good heavens, this is the funniest article I’ve read in a long while!
It is always amazing to view the insipid mental meanderings of the Hillarybots.
We never cared who leaked the DNC emails. We only cared what was in them.
Typical clinton projectionism
I knew it. I knew this would happen to me. They were never going to let me be president.
Oh puleeeze! She thought it was her turn and her minions would bring it on home.
But she really didn’t campaign, and when she did, she was falling, tripping, slip-sliding away, and basically letting it be known that she would be a third obamao term.
Thankfully this old adage still applies to presidential elections:
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades...
In other news: Blind squirrel finds nut.
She is right... we never would have let her be President.
However, I far prefer it to be this way, where we might have a chance to both keep our lives and preserve the Republic. Had she won in November 2016, I think many of us might have lost the former and all of us might have lost the latter.
Yup probably THE happiest day of my life as well.
I still look up and thank GOD almost every day...
“THEY” = “Everydays”.
aks “the deplorables”
Scrumptious Schadenfreude, this is. :)
And that is what happened. She miscalculated the number of fraud votes she needed to win.
She had no idea how informed, motivated and numerous the theys were.
