Dick’s Sporting Goods announced on Monday it will destroy all of the unsold firearms it pulled off store shelves in February after the deadly Parkland school shooting.
The sports retailer decided to destroy the assault-style rifles instead of returning them to the manufacturer, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported. On Feb. 28, 2018, the Pittsburgh-based company announced it would immediately stop selling assault-style rifles and ban the sale of all guns to anyone under 21. It was not immediately clear how many firearms will be destroyed.
“We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,” a spokesperson from Dick’s Sporting Goods told the media outlet. “We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.”
The rifles will be demolished at distribution centers and then delivered to a salvage company to be recycled.

Oh boy. If there is anyone dumb enough to have not dumped their stock in this company already, this might be the kick in the butt they need.
I wonder if they have any idea at all how many pissed off customers will never shop in their stores again. Dick’s was my go to place for golf supplies. No more.
And pass the loss along to their customers... if there are any customers left.

Went in one of those stores once a long time ago and didn’t go back. The atmosphere was too queer.
You bet and that is what I did.
I’ve already not purchased two items from there. Many more to come. They are dead to me.
The guns belong to those people. They are free do what with them as they wish.
And I am free to think those people are ignorant, hypocritical a$$holes for destroying them.
It’s a private company. They can run the thing into the ground.
I’m sure if the government confiscates all citizens’ guns, they will do just as good a job at keeping illegal guns from flooding the border as they did keeping booze out during Prohibition, illegal drugs from crossing the border, and even illegal aliens from crossing.

I still think some shareholders should file suit to stop them. They’ve destroying profits that would benefit shareholders.
