What happened to the state of Jefferson proponents?

Adding 3 or 4 more Dim Senators? With the state fraud level, don’t count on any GOP wins.

I can think of reasons why Democrats would not like this.

Currently the Democrats can count on 55 electoral votes for president from California. Under this plan, I’m not sure they can count on all three new states automatically voting Democrat.

They’ll want PR, too, for an even state addition number.

Break Northern California into Northern California and Jefferson and it could be fair, creating four states with likely four Democrat Senators and four Republican Senators. Or just give the Bay Area to California instead of Northern California.

One way or another, this has to happen. The current state is completely ungovernable, and systematic vote fraud has entrenched the worst kind of weasels into the higher offices.

They need to continue the “State of California” a little further up the coast and include San Francisco, removing that area from the “State of Northern California” [aka - Jefferson]. That would almost guarantee that only California would be a guaranteed Democrat state; the other two would more likely be Republican states.

That Jefferson idea got washed away. They intend to push in the entire bay area into the northern state. Pretty much guarantees that the measure won’t pass. They wanted to make sure each of the big three cities (SF, LA, San Diego) would end up as a capital.

It doesn’t at all fix the Inland Empire complaints. Those counties, chaffing under domination by Sacramento, LA and SF still remain dominated by SF and Sacramento or, slightly better, San Diego and LA suburbs.

A two-state solution, with Silicon Valley and Sacramento united with LA makes much more sense. That won’t happen, though: Coastal California would have to relinquish control of its life blood to Inland California, and the population imbalance is still pretty severe.

Notice that miserable Bay Area mess is thrown in with the NorCal region, which guarantees more dem Senators. Only the SoCal area would have a chance of being more to the political center.

It needs to be divided into East and West California. That will truly be a political divide. East California will be more like Idaho.

You got. That’s the way it should be done.

LA and SF must be in the same state.

If all the “states” in California were the size of Vermont in terms of population that would make 65 states. And Wyoming has fewer people than Vermont (and more cows than people). Three states is too few. I’ve voted in all but one election since I was old enough to vote. The candidate that I voted for in Presidential, Senatorial and House elections has not won in 25 years with the exception of President Trump, and he didn’t win my state. I’m done with not being represented by virtue of living in my home state. I’m not moving. I want representative government and if that means more states, so be it.
