Pray your power stays on and get ready for some heavy rain, maybe even a thunderstorm or two.
That's the second chapter of Ice Storm 2018 as it circles through the Buffalo Niagara region this weekend.
As the frontal boundary that brought the ice and sleet to Western New York over the last 18 hours or so treks northward today, the mixed precipitation and freezing rain will change over to all rain, the National Weather Service said.
It could be heavy at times.

14 inches of snow in Minneapolis yesterday. 4 more on the way.
It was 73 degrees a year ago.
Global warming sucks.
WHAT????
They’re too busy trying accurately predict the weather for the next 100 to 1000 years ( doom and gloom ) rather that the next 100 to 1000 minutes.
SE Michigan had ice until 6 miles from the Ohio border.
My weather app is showing snow in western PA for Tuesday. Who knows what that means but after two 85 degree days, I’m not turning on the AC yet.
My grandma used to say that if it rained on Easter then it would rain for the next seven Sundays. Well it snowed in Kansas City on Easter. It snowed the Sunday after it. It snowed last night. If we get snow in mid-May then I’m going to beg my grandma to forgive me for ever doubting her on anything.
Yes. That is extremely annoying, isn’t it? No remaining credibility with me, whatsoever.
We have been all over the map with weather this Spring, too. one warm-ish day, then very cold again. Ice storm yesterday and today it’s some sort of crunchy sleet falling on us. Northern WI got nailed with a foot of snow, poor sobs.
Next week we MAY turn the corner. Consistent 50’s. We have been running 20-30 degrees BELOW normal for the past month or so. My lawn actually needs mowing - but is currently a sheet of green ice! ;)
I live in Rome, NY. Back in 2000, we had a snow storm on Mother’s Day. As far as thunderstorms, we had one last Thursday evening. I’m presently visiting my oldest son in Troy, NY and will be heading home later today.
Here in S.E. Michigan temps dropped to 28 last night with rain and this morning and all the roads and trees are covered in ice.
Just imagine how many more FEET of snow, if it weren't for 'Glow-bull Warming © '. 😉
Algore is a heero for discovering the internet, oops, I mean 'Glow-bull Warming © '

Amen brother. I’m in the west metro staring at 14” of the white stuff. And our snow blower is broken. Sob.
But it’s unusually warm ice and snow.
It was 72 degrees 3 days ago here in S.E. Michigan. 28 degrees this morning and ice all over the place.
Minnetonka here. Put the bobcat in the shop yesterday to stay warm. Really didn’t think I would need it again this year for snow.
Three consecutive Minnesota Twins home games postponed by snow and cold. Many other MLB games played with record cold starting temps.

WX “predictors”, the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD! What other job allows you to be WRONG more than 50% the time and you still keep your job?
I swear that if I open my mouth one more time and insist to my friend that winter is over he’s going to knock me out.
Baseball batter?
Please, please Global Warming, WHERE ARE YOU WHEN WE SOOOO NEED YOU??
