Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., says he believes a majority of the public doubts the official U.S. government contention that Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical gas against the final rebel-held town near Damascus.
Anybody who has tried to explain to me why Assad would do this sounds like a conspiracy theorist, said Massie, a libertarian Republican from Kentucky. It requires really contorted thinking to think Assad did this. You have to come up with very complicated reasons.
I cannot think of a reason he would, Massie said.

I think I saw the one you are referring to. It was laying on an ‘innocent child’s’ bed.
Thats hilarious. We are actually supposed to believe anything that Mommy Boy Macron says? The Globalist Macron?
Macron is not an ally.
So how many American lives are you willing to risk to punish Assad?
Can you even prove that he did this and not the Rebels?
~~~~~
All American lives are at risk.
I guess you think this is just some philosophical convolution.
However, it makes a point. Whose lives are at risk from a retaliation for gas attacks? Anyone specific?
No.
Just whomever the Russians decide to attack if they retaliate.
Now that I addressed that, let me get back to what I said before. At this point, we waited to long. The war of words has virtually assured a game of escalation is likely if we act. The time to have made a symbollic response to the use of chemical weapons would have been in the first 12 hours, 24 at most.
So no, I would not ‘put american lives at risk’ for punishing Assad.
Typo. Should have been Mommys Boy.
Exactly, I would have added one thing, the terrorists want the USA to bomb Syria’s military bases. How easily people are duped.
The American people do not support your point of view and will not be stampeded into another Iraq war type fiasco.
No matter how much propaganda is put forth.
I absolutely agree. I don't give one crap if they all kill themselves by whatever means. I also don't care if Russia and Iran become influence peddlers in that shit hole country. I understand we have to be engaged in World affairs, but we don't have keep making the same mistakes over and over. My reasons below:
1. Think Tridents that keep any Country from attacking;
2. I don't want to see one more youth in uniform die or maimed for that shit hole region, other than Israel;
3. Think Tridents;
4. I'm sick of the US being the police of the world and nation building;
5. Think Tridents;
6. The US hasn't won a war since WWII, other than Iraq which is iffy at best. We still lose our finest in Aftganiscrap. We fight and pull out. There is a clear reason why Germany and Japan became allies after obliterating them;
7. Until radical and moderate Islam is recognized as western civilization's biggest threat, all this waste of lives and limbs will be for naught;
8. Thinks Tridents with 24 missiles and mirvs on top.
The only “conspiracy” is the official narrative, which is unproven other than some nebulous assurances by the same people trying to take down Trump. They can take their narrative and shove it up their rear ends.
The way I look at it is, there are fewer would-be terrorists.
“Hitler didnt pose a threat to the US”
What an ignorant thing to say.
Hitler declared war on the USA.
Also, I don’t play the “so you’re saying” game that the Democrats play. You know, the one where someone makes something up, acts as if you said it, and then expects you to defend something you never said?
Yeah, don’t do that with me. I’ll call you on it every single time.
No shit. The Libya attacks to depose Gaddafi and further the "Arab Spring" worked out really well as it created a vacuum for ISIS. Luckily, Egypt got the clue and kicked out Obama's Muslim Brotherhood supported Morsi.
Sometimes the world is better off with a benevolent authoritarian leadership in some nations. No, not a Stalin, Mao, Hitler type.
Modern China is a good example of such. We don't like their communist party internal policies, but they have become part of the international community. They have become reasonable with their latest blink regarding a tariff war.
So, you support Russian- and Iranian-backed Assad over Trump and the US? Isn’t that about where we are at in this conversation? You think either (1) they are truthful, (2) they would never gas people, (3) that they can if they want, (4) not our problem, etc.
No, the government is always allowed secrecy The public right to know is overhyped propaganda by presstitutes that need grist for their mill
Does tarring him with the globalist canard make him unbelievable?
“So, you support Russian- and Iranian-backed Assad over Trump and the US?
Don’t tell me what I support or think and then try to set me up as a straw man so you can lecture to me from a position of assumed moral superiority.
I told you that I do not play this game and I meant it. This kind of tactic has no business on FR given that it’s what the Democrats do on a daily basis.
Yeah, whatever. Apologist, not conservative, not loyal American. Prefer believing Assad, Russians, and Iranians. Probably a Never Trumper, just getting flushed out here. I get it. Fine, don’t bother replying and repeating yourself.
The accusations are not a game.
Rather, they seem right on target in that you support the war criminal Assad who is in fact the surrogate of Russia and Iran.
Get lost, idiot troll. “Boy” is a good moniker for you - since you typically post with about as much intelligent life experience, and insight into history.
I think Israel is pushing for further conflict in Syria. Interestingly, there are one million Russians in Israel. Many are not even Jewish.
I knew you had no proof. Bwaahhaaaa!! adios
