Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., says he believes a majority of the public doubts the official U.S. government contention that Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical gas against the final rebel-held town near Damascus.
Anybody who has tried to explain to me why Assad would do this sounds like a conspiracy theorist, said Massie, a libertarian Republican from Kentucky. It requires really contorted thinking to think Assad did this. You have to come up with very complicated reasons.
I cannot think of a reason he would, Massie said.

I am definitely not. However, if attacked by a verifiable host Nation, we go all out and make an example once again. No more pussy-footing about. Geeze, how old am I for using that term? LOL
"Only it should be against Mexico."
Especially not that. There are many economical ways to bring Mexico elites to bear. President Trump can do it on his own with NAFTA, wall, and possibly remittances to Mexico providing the Executive Branch has that power regarding the remittances. I don't know.
“Cancel the entire intel budget and hire pollsters to determine foreign policy!”
A new poll also says a majority of Americans think Mueller is on a partisan witch hunt. I guess you have a problem with people having that opinion too. “Cancel the entire FBI budget and hire pollsters to determine law enforcement!”
My point was NO more of our youth die or maimed for hopeless nation-building in the Islamic world. I believe McCain and some others have said maybe we should get more involved with "advisors" in country. I could be wrong, but my position stands that we just pull out and let Russia have their port.
THINK TRIDENT. They wouldn't dare attack us. They actually love their lives and those of their children. I know being 11 years Cold War sailor and being shadowed by Soviet vessels and having discussions with the E.O. on occasion.
I also once interacted with a Russian sailor who wound up in the wrong bar in Hong Kong after drinking too much. It was surprising how much he wanted to better his English and talk. We asked him what he thought of the cold war, he said "Nyet, no best. I [unintelligible] my family." I will always remember that moment.
“In times of war, the public is not entitled to secret evidence.”
So you trust our government on faith. Does that go for Mueller and Comey as well? Trust them, because they have secret evidence that isn’t safe for the rest of us to know?
Since you guys believe McCain and Lindsey Graham without evidence, do you also believe Comey and Mueller without evidence?
Sadly a lot of conspiracy theorists on THIS SITE also.

Well, I guess youre with the folks who accept things without any proof.
Proof? We aint got no proof! We dont need no proof! I dont have to show you any stinkin proof!
Well many blunders would have been avoided if that happened.
After decades of rule by his father what has Assad done to justify our involvement? The Syrians are no worse off with the son, certainly nothing that would justify our involvement. They have not increased terrorist activity nor been excessively anti-Israel.
Neither Russia or Syria could possibly benefit from such an action as an unwarranted gas attack. It is just the opposite.
This smells like another Libyan disaster on its way.
And thank YOU for your service!!!
Hoe dare them!
#SkyNews cuts off top British general after he asks Why would #Syria launch a gas attack now?
Assad apologists = Those skeptical of outlandish claims which make no sense. No one here gives a shit about Assad.
Plenty of untruth in that post.
Even an idiot would not take an action, when winning the war and the US about ready to call a halt, that virtually guarantees the war won’t stop.
Not ONE poster here has said anything supporting Assad all have demanded a story which makes even a little sense.
So tell me why Assad would do such a thing? What does he have to gain by gassing these people?
Now, you can simply argue that Assad is a madman and that’s the explanation. Assad is embattled and under attack from Turkey, the West and Israel. Even if he’s an evil guy, doing a gas attack on your people is suicidal. Sorry, but that’s a conspiracy theory.
Sorry, I can’t trust the mainstream media like you. It’s not worth going to WW3.
To paraphrase Shakespeare, “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark
If it comes out of Sodom on the Sound I 99.99999999999% don’t believe it.
Totally agree and can’t believe we will go to war without knowing more about who actually launched the gas attacks.
IMO, yes it does.
Logic Fail!
“Most of the public”, including myself, has no credible information upon which to make such a judgment. Fake news.
