He’s not returning to the deal he scrapped. He’s telling his people to put together a better deal for the American people.
He never said he would haven’t trade deals, but that the current TPP was a disaster for the U.S.
Having observed just a little how DJT operates, I will reserve judgment on this, in the hopes that it is all strategy for an optimum end result. : )

Yes and Trump is suggesting we look at renegotiating it in which case it would be very different. In case you haven’t noticed this is Trump’s MO. He pulls us out first, or threatens to, then says, “well if you really want it we can talk about a new agreement”. He did that with the Paris scam, NAFTA and now TPP. He’s not going to sign a bad agreement on any of them, but it deflects criticism and puts the ball in the proponents court to offer changes.
Talking impeachment over this is idiotic.

Just had an argument with a friend who has the mental illness of liberalism about this. JUST TALKING TO THESE NATIONS is not entering TPP, nor is dangling the carrot that we might want into it doing so. Even if we were to “enter” it today it would be on far better terms than if we did it as an original member of the “bloc” with a multilateral agreement and a borderlessness agreement for all members like NAFTA has. The US has already put tariffs on steel and aluminum for many of the members of this pact. Kudlow and Lighthizer can use those tariffs to get better placement for us for even minor waivers from them. The point is that the whole process of negotiating as a 12th-member, and not a multilateral signatory, puts the US in a much better negotiating position to get a ton of things we want even if we never do actually “enter” into TPP.
You like Globalist TPP .
