A leading weapons academic has claimed that the Khan Sheikhoun nerve agent attack in Syria was staged, raising questions about who was responsible.
Theodore Postol, a professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), issued a series of three reports in response to the White House's finding that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad perpetrated the attack on 4 April.
He concluded that the US government's report does not provide any "concrete" evidence that Assad was responsible, adding it was more likely that the attack was perpetrated by players on the ground.
Postol said: "I have reviewed the [White House's] document carefully, and I believe it can be shown, without doubt, that the document does not provide any evidence whatsoever that the US government has concrete knowledge that the government of Syria was the source of the chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria at roughly 6am to 7am on 4 April, 2017.
"In fact, a main piece of evidence that is cited in the document point to an attack that was executed by individuals on the ground, not from an aircraft, on the morning of 4 April.
"This conclusion is based on an assumption made by the White House when it cited the source of the sarin release and the photographs of that source. My own assessment is that the source was very likely tampered with or staged, so no serious conclusion could be made from the photographs cited by the White House."

No, but I understand and work with folks who do this collection and analysis and they are not generating political products. Brennans, Comeys, and Muellers are politicals and at that level the products can be misused or misrepresented. Again, its objective evidence vs subjective evidence. We wont go to war over subjective evidence.
I believe you are correct the larger plan about containing and weakening Russia. But if Hillary were President, plans would be proceeding about the same, just with a much more trusted, statist, deep-stater in the White House.

Assad has the enemy on the ropes and that city in particular, surrounded. They were negotiating the rebels surrender in the 48 hours prior to the “attack”. Why would Assad do the one thing, which would invite world condemnation and retaliation? Use your head. The only groups that would benefit from American attacks on Assad are ISIS and the House of Saud.

I don’t believe the Deep State is involved in pushing the attack Syria narrative. They may be demonRATs, but their coup is from the witch hunt. If anything, the Deep State is a distraction which takes our focus off the ball.

Seems a pretty good reason to me.
Why would it be in Assads interest to use chemicals at this juncture? He had won. There was nothing to gain. Personally do not believe he did, nor do I believe he used them last year after the Russians stepped in, routed ISIS and saved his ass.
Now it’s all on the table again and may not end well. Why did he do it? For what end?
Trump just talks about getting out of Syria and 2 days later this happens? It cant be Assad. He would wait first for the US to be out of Syrna. If staged, this was a desperate last minute attempt to keep the US in Syria.
