GOP Strategist Steve Schmidt Rips ‘Imbecile’ Trump For Trade War

Republican strategist Steve Schmidt tore into Donald Trump while appearing on MSNBC today — calling the president an “imbecile” for his trade wars and adding that he has “no idea what he’s talking about.”

As news circulated this morning that the stock market dropped dramatically after China responded to Trump’s tariffs with trade restrictions of their own, the president denied that there is a “trade war” happening, despite all evidence pointing to the opposite being true.

Schmidt noted this while discussing the issue with a fired-up Stephanie Ruhle this morning:

Would all of these brave souls talk so ferociously if Trump were a black liberal.

Steve is the “Republican point of view” guy at MSNBC. He’s basically a trained parrot like David Bergen. Total turd from way back. It was fun to watch him squirm on Nov 8. Wanted Trump to lose even worse than Maddow. I fart in his general direction.

The so called trade war is just part of a much bigger strategy. Without it the would not be talking about giving up their nuclear bomb programs.

If Trump is making people in DC and on the Left mad then he must be doing something right.

The reason he can say that is because he has proven, through vast accomplishments, such as acquiring billions of dollars and running a ten billion dollar corporation, that he knows the ends and outs of economic theory and application. I mean, he is not just another party hack prick that people hire to trick voters into voting for their particular cookie-cutter candidate.

We can’t sustain a war for our survival without a domestic steel industry.

Republican strategist Steve Schmidt tore into Donald Trump while appearing on MSNBC today — calling the president an “imbecile” for his trade wars and adding that he has “no idea what he’s talking about.”

Looks to me like Republican strategist Steve Schmidt himself has “no idea what he’s talking about.”

Has Schmidt taken a deeper look into the collective impact of the tariffs, that is, the pluses and minuses? Does Schmidt understand that the USA lost the trade war many years ago?

Maybe he has investments to lose. Maybe he is worried about himself and not what is good for our country.

If the USA nets $60 billion with a tariff on steel and aluminum, and China adds tariffs to 100 items that net them a grand total of $2 billion, how does that work for Schmidt?

Our country is hurting in steel because we are a shadow of what we used to be. Is our steel production 10% of what it used to be? It that a good thing strategically and economically?

If Steve Schmidt cannot connect those dots then he is the one who does not know what he is talking about!
