WASHINGTON -- President Trump responded Sunday to reports of a suspected chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma, blaming Syrian President Bashar Assad and his international allies for the apparent attack that left dozens dead and hundreds injured. In some of his most critical comments directed at Russian President Vladimir Putin to date, Mr. Trump threatened that there's a "big price ... to pay" for those backing the Assad regime.

Syrian opposition activists and rescuers said Sunday that a poison gas attack on the rebel-held town of Douma near the capital of Damascus killed at least 40 people. The alleged attack has been denied by the Syrian and Russian governments. Russia is Syria's closest ally and has a major military presence in the country.

Reports of the latest attack which appeared to target civilians and young children could not be independently verified.

Let’s hope he figures out who the culprits are before taking action. I don’t like Netanyahu, but would put him on the same bucket as neighbor Assad.

That was utterly delusional.

Probably, but is he worse than McMaster?

Why do you act as if those are the only two people on the planet who are capable of holding that position?

Don’t threaten. Do. Threaten is what Obama did.

Agreed. I’m thinking that he feels that he has to show the world that he isn’t afraid to push the, War Button, as me and my buddies used to call it. I think he’s already shown that he has no issues with it and unlike clinton, he actually targets legitimate places. But, this isn’t the time.

But, someone needs to pull him to the side and tell him to chill out. None of our business. Not our problem.

Aside from all of that, if anyone thinks that Russia, Iran and Syria can establish a long lasting relationship, they’re smoking some major crack. Putin has his own issues with Muslims. And the Iranians try to play everyone. It’s in muslim DNA do lie, cheat and steal. But, for Iran and Russia, the US is a common foe, so they can “work” together, for now. If we left, they’d be at each other’s throats in 6 months. Assad has a country to rebuild. Oil to get pumping again. And convince, at least, some of those Syrians to come back home.

The president is the commander in chief, but he does not have power to unilaterally take the nation to war. Congress has more than the purse strings, it alone possesses the power to take the nation to war.
In recent decades it has passed resolutions allowing a president to conduct a war such as Gulf of Tonkin, authorization for desert storm, post 9/11 war on terror.

No such authorization of force exists in Syria...none. But i guess the constitution is “quaint”.

“Trump does not need Congressional permission, nor the UN, or anyone else’s to launch an attack anywhere, anytime.”

Actually, he does. He can use force in some limited manners. But he does not have the right to flip the finger to congress and plunge us into a war and the only recourse is that we can vote him out in 4 years.

Is that constitution thingy getting in the way of your war porn?

I did not say they were the only 2 people. I agree that Trump may be getting into things that we thought we were voting against. It’s really sad how the deep state keeps getting its way no matter who gets elected.

And let Turkey and their allies isis and AQ take over all on the premise of a chemical attack that well may have been done by the rebels?

Um...No...no, I don't think so.

Bolton still won’t admit Iraq was a big fat mistake. You should have watched him on Tucker.

POTUS NEVER telegraphs his moves.
Think logically.
Why did POTUS announce his intention to pull out of Syria?
Moves and countermoves.
These people are STUPID (& SICK).

If Jaish al Islam (the Army of Islam, and an al Qaeda off-shot) says it happened, we must go to war with Syria & Russia.

Your suggestion would result in the massive rape and torture of the Syrian people by your friends the Saudi Scum.

Bolton in 2013:

Bolton: I'd 'vote no' on Syria strike

You are probably right that Bolton will want more war in Syria. Trump can fire him if necessary.

And turned Libya into a replica of Somalia, while absconding with 143 tons of gold.

Great plan.

Where did all that gold wind up? And when is it being returned to the Libyan people?

The natural conclusion is that Assad is in a position to end this thing and that not only are chemical weapons not needed, they would give his enemies an excuse to demand foreign intervention while at the same time creating an expensive mess to decontaminate.

Therefore - false flag.
