Mass shootings have generated a wave of anti-gun activism, and the Feb. 14 attack in Broward County, Florida, has been no exception.
The March for Our Lives movement has generated wide media coverage, school walk-outs and anti-gun rallies across the country, highlighted by the demonstration attended by tens of thousands in Washington last month.
Its also created instant celebrities, such as Parkland, Florida, student David Hogg, whos made a name for himself on television and social media for his demand for gun control.
But parents in one school district say that while they recognize free-speech rights, the district is going too far in endorsing gun-control and facilitating protests.
The non-profit law firm Freedom X has written to the Loma Prieta Unified School District, which includes the tony city of Los Gatos in Silicon Valley, concerning an abrupt policy change that violates the law.
A letter on behalf of parents of students in the district warns of legal action if officials carry out their plan to allow students, faculty and staff to participate in a planned walkout April 20.
Freedom X wrote to Supt. Corey Kidwell asking for assurances the district will not help run the walkout in violation of its own policies.
The April 20 event, Freedom X explains, is being facilitated by left-wing political activist groups, including the Network for Public Education Action, to influence gun legislation and is intended to indoctrinate impressionable school children as a scheme to push an anti-2nd Amendment political agenda.

...average age of protestors is 49..
Good. The kids are in school to learn, not be used as foils in a political debate.
The Socialists have ALWAYS used children in their propaganda.
Glad these parents are fighting this!
49 WAS AVERAGE AGE OF MARCH FOR OUR LIVES ATTENDEES
LOL! I did notice in some of the pics that there were some mighty mature teenagers at the march. Obviously slow learners.
Only 10% of the DC marchers were teenagers.
It was mostly a rehash of the January 2017 pussy hat marchers.
Hogg is being programmed and fed his opinions by the Left and anti-2nd Amendment people. He is an idiot.
Do you think hogg wash has been supplied with his own copy of ‘the guide’?

Absolutely not. And it is not about guns and all about control.
its a great strategy to use on educrats. These people are bureaucrats through and through - legalist public employees who bend with the political wind and are afraid of their own shadow.
Kids rebel. They always rebel. It’s a process of separating their forming egos from their parents’ ways.
They will always rebel against whatever they’ve been spoon-fed by educators and parents.
I was a sixties rebel-kid. The schools and most all parents were, by today’s standards, conservative. So we-all went left wing — listened to Phil Ochs and some (not me) wore Che Guevara T-shirts. Our Authority Figures were all Right, so, in our maturation and rebellion process, we went Left.
Me, I came back to Centrism in my thirties and forties, and then to rock-rib Conservatism after that.
No to worry: today’s kids WILL rebel against the Krappe they’re being spoon-fed. They’re not stupid — they’ll figure it all out in time.
Gun sales and related sports and marksmanship contests will be all the rage when that rebellion kicks in — precisely BECAUSE it will piss off the Authority Structure. National concealed carry will prevail, and the condition of “law-abidingness” will be recognized as a Practical Reality.
Any students participating in said walk out receive zeros for all marks that day. Any teachers and/or administrators modifying their program for the day to accommodate the participants of said walk out should be freed from their stations to search for work elsewhere.
I always thought "progressives" were slow on the uptake. If they're still in high school at age 49+, that pretty much proves it...
