The Pentagon said Thursday it is establishing a new border security support cell that will be manned 24 hours a day after President Trump ordered the military to help secure the southern border.
Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White said Trump authorized the National Guard to enhance its support for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the border. This is not business as usual, White said.
She said their efforts will include aviation, engineer, surveillance, communications, vehicle maintenance and logistics support.
They will support border patrol agents who are performing law enforcement duties, White said.

It’d be LOVELY to see a 50’ wide, straight-sided concrete trench with it’s bottom 20ft below mean sea level running all the way from the pacific to the Caribbean. Give the Rio Grande an outlet on both ends & stock it with very large reptiles.
Misleading Headline. The Border Security Support Cell was just formed and is operating 24/7.
Do we understand how much the Delusional Lying Left costs us because we have to work around their road blocks to our Constitutionally protected freedom and sovereignty?
Trump’s argument for the wall should include comparing
1) the cost of continuous ongoing efforts to protect our borders in the face of strong resistance from these Leftist political snakes who will not cooperate in their constitutional duties versus
2) the one-time cost of building a wall, maintenance notwithstanding.
(And PLEASE, drop the idiotic “Mexico will pay” crap. We’ll pay and gladly, especially when these kinds of costly realities are brought to light.)
There would be a lot of places where it would be 2000 feet deep.

Good news.
What happened to Southern Command. Thought that was their job.
The official ROE will be vaguely-worded with conventional diplomatic niceties.
The interpretation on the ground?
All armed persons not belonging to US forces will be assumed hostile - and will be fired upon if they threaten US forces. That will include Mexican police and army...
Cross-border attacks from the Mexican side will get lethal responses and the border might get a little fuzzy in such cases.
Representatives from the media will be excluded from active areas "for their own safety".
Yes, fast moving & eddys creating swirling water!!
Wake me when DJT gets serious and invokes The 2008 Defense Authorization Bill
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, if youre not woke yet, that DJT is serious, with all thats happened to get here and whats been done, the obstacles defied ... we wont hold our breath. But like so many freepers, it gives you something to bitch about and feel essential. In a cheap transparent tawdry way.
Thanks Innovative.
Never their job, CONUS, SouthCom OCONUS.
That sounds a lot like Jurassic Park.
He ought to be sending the Military into DC as well.
Soon.....
Each Service has a Contingency Support Staff (CSS) with about 20 - 25 people sitting at desks. Each is a different area of expertise and has the entire Service staff at the beck and call to work any issue. The taskers come from the Joint Staff CSS to the Services and asks for a position on any issue that will be brought to the Joint Staff. The person at the desk working with his office elsewhere in the building develop a point paper or position paper. The people at the desk have the capability to coordinate with commands throughout the U.S. if necessary. This entire system is separate from a small staff 24/7/365. I worked at the AF CSS as needed from 78-86.
See my post elsewhere.
I personally saw F-16’s come up Potomac within a few minutes after the hit on Pentagon. And General Ed Eberhart had already spoken to the President and given the order to destroy flight 93 before it reached Washington.
Correct. But Joint Staff gives Command to them and and the Service Chiefs use their CSS to develop a Service position.
Yea I suggest military maneuvers on the border with 20 to 25 thousand taking part. That would really set the left off..
