Yes but I hate to break it to everyone here on FR, but this will have very little effect on the problem. Lets say they put the military in a direct apprehension roll. I have no doubt they will catch hundreds of them in the first few days.
Then what? We still have no detention space and a court backlog of about 30 years. If the military catches just as many as the US Border Patrol then we will just be releasing twice as many illegal aliens into the US as we are now.
Until we revamp our immigration polices and we build physical barriers to keep them out in the first place nothing and I mean nothing will change.
As I have stated here many times the best, cheapest and fastest way to get our southern border under control is to pass E-VERIFY. If they can't get jobs 90% won't even try to come.
But it takes legislation from congress to pass that law and the dems and GOPe have no interest in doing that.
I don’t think that’s the point. The point is he’s going to put military assets in place to guard the border. Doesn’t *exactly* have to do with the caravan, but he appears to not mind conflating the two at this moment.

I’ve always distrusted that weasel-eyed little sycophant. He’s transparently hostile to the President and should be shunned like the plague.

Boom is right. POTUS just upped the ante. Clearly he’s been setting the stage recently for a final confrontation over border security and immigration. I wouldn’t bet against POTUS. Militarizing the border is justifiable under the circumstances, as we have been under an organized stealth invasion for the past 10 years at least. It also gives POTUS great leverage to get Congress to do what needs to be done regarding the wall, immigration law, and sanctuary jurisdictions.
I can’t wait for the day we can tell these traitors on social media that the REASON they cannot come on and espouse overthrow of the country is because that makes them ENEMIES OF THE STATE and subject to proscription.

Bret Baier is a notorious Never Trumper, and he knows not of what he speaks: The president can employ federal troops at the border in national security emergencies. Good grief; does Bret Baier think that in the event of an invasion federal troops cannot do anything? Baier is an idiot.
Protecting the border isn’t an option it is a Constitutional responsibility. Section 4 Article 4.
