Shepard Smith and John Roberts discussed the possibility that President Trump could exercise the INSURRECTION ACT OF 1807.

Absolutely unneeded in light of Article 4, Section 4 — The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.

Though, for the second part it might be relevant:

  1. Release the real numbers for illegals and declare a active state of invasion.
  2. Issue warrants for the arrests of all Mayors and City Council members (or equivalents) for all Sanctuary Cities for the Treason of providing aid and comfort to the invaders.
  3. Issue $10,000 (tax-free) rewards for the above.
  4. Use the Insurrection Act and NDAAs as justification to besiege said Sanctuary Cities, cutting off food, water, and electricity until they surrender the invaders they harbor.
(Allow free travel out of besieged cities for citizens and legal immigrants; detain for deportation all illegals.)
  5. Laugh as people (like courts or congress) say You can't do that!
  6. Arrest judges and congressmen who try to stop you for the Treason of providing Aid and Comfort for the invaders.
The biggest problem people will have is with #4 — but this is easily addressed simply by saying:
If the previous Congressional and Presidential administrations had truly and faithfully upheld the law, this would be utterly unnecessary! and leave it at that.
