But over the course of my command, I learned there were bigger obstacles to gender equality in the Marine Corps, the most male-dominated of the services. First and foremost, the corps was and remains the only military branch that largely separates men from women in basic training.
Almost as important, when I reviewed performance records at Parris Island, I realized that women hadn’t performed better than men in almost any category since records had been kept. That included academics, attrition and injury rates, marksmanship, even marching. Yet no one had questioned why or demanded improvements. No one believed the women could do better.
I was determined to prove they could. That meant fighting many decades of opposition to having women in front-line combat roles. This was especially true in the Marine Corps, where we say, “Every Marine a rifleman.” Those riflemen are the infantry troops who put themselves in the paths of bullets and bombs while carrying heavy rucksacks, who jump out of planes and otherwise subject their bodies to extreme wear and tear.

I wont read the rest of a Times article to see if this person ended up changing the women marines into a lean mean fighting machine once she got rid of discrimination.
What I’ve read so far is that the women suck because they’re expected to suck.

Recent media has made it obvious the the most indomitable fighting force in the universe is a skinny little white girl.
I knew within hours of taking the ASVAB in 1979 that the military had vastly lower expectations for women and that they “helped” women wher ever they had to. It’s a little scary to me that this guy was going into a command slot before he doped it out.

Women don’t play in the NFL and they don’t play in the NBA. And they don’t box Floyd Mayweather. That’s because they can’t do what men do.

It's Corps, not corps.
And the reason the Corps had lower expectations for women is because even most idiots understand that on the whole women do not have the physical ability and stamina of men.
If they did, the tranny men who are allowed to play as females in women's sports leagues wouldn't be kicking ass and taking home the medals and trophies.
It baffles me why we have to have women in front line combat positions when none of our advisarys do.
And Israel is not an example. They are surrounded by their enemies and have no choice.
