**snip**  Matthew wrote a CasperJS script that does just that, automatically editing past posts with either random or pseudo-random letters. For this technique to be most effective, you wouldn’t do it just once. Mathew proposes editing all of your Facebook data with this script roughly five times over a three-month period so your original data is sufficiently scrubbed from Facebook’s multiple, redundant backup systems.

Mathew details his full reasoning, the technique, and how the script (which is really just a proof of concept) works in a blog post. It’s possible that the script could be a violation of Facebook’s terms of service, since it could be considered to impair or disable the proper functionality of Facebook. If you decide to give it a shot, keep that in mind.

Revelations?

Apparently some reporters and many members of the public are finally realizing what has been known for many years.

You should provide fake data to your credit card and banks accounts.
When the ask for your mothers name, make something up.
When they ask where you went to high school, also make something up.
If they ask where you met your spouse, tell them Fiji or Ceylon, whatever.
Write it down for when they ask in 6 months or you won’t remember it, but it does make breaking into your account hard for anyone who isn’t you.

The previous posts have been already captured. Changing the lastest version of them will not prevent FB from mining all the old stuff.
FB’s business model is to claim that the site is free, and then sell private information to all who will pay. There is no way to fool it, except to post garbage in the first place.
Nothing is free.
This won’t work.

Funny. Anyone who’s ever been on the Interweb knows that you’ve been tracked. The whiners over Facebook are, well, whiners.

I’ll stay on FB. Met some old friends, hooked up with some old girlfriends, keep in touch with my kids, this whole mess of becoming verklempft over FB data is hilarious.

Stay or go. Those of us who stick around know that our data will be gathered and used. Those who don’t stick around were idiots to begin with.

Women in … custody who would otherwise be subjected to the Trump administration’s attempt to force them to bring to [the] pregnancy to term.”

Uh’m, they can pay for it themselves.

The taxpayer shouldn’t pay for an elective surgery or to snuff out another person’s life.
