Parkland activist David Hogg is calling for a boycott of Laura Ingrahams advertisers after the Fox News host made a comment about some of his college rejections, which he openly discussed in an interview with TMZ.
David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA...totally predictable given acceptance rates.) Ingraham tweeted along with a link to a DailyWire story about the rejections.
Hogg was turned down by four University of California schools--Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Irvine.
The Parkland activist responded by calling on his supporters to contact her advertisers.
While he had a number of followers happy with his push for a boycott of Ingrahams advertisers, the best response came from fellow student Kyle Kashuv.
You can run around calling everyone a child murderer, viciously smear @DLoesch, say he isn't attacking @MarcoRubio hard enough, but, if you tweet out an article that points out that he didn't get into college he launches a boycott against you trying to drive you out of business, he wrote.
Mic drop.
Some high schools give additional points for certain classes, up to a 5. It’s just a way to inflate GPA’s. I saw this 20 years ago when I worked in an admission’s office.
Not exactly. That is his weighted gpa based on the difficulty of his classes. It means he is in honors and AP classes. Getting a B in AP lang or physics is not the same as being a “run of the mill B student”.
It is meant to give colleges a better picture of a student’s level. Two students with the same gpa, one in all remedial, and the other in all AP classes, are not the same college prepared student.
He is obviously smart, for a giant dumbass. Those colleges are very picky, and a weighted 4.1 is not going to cut it against kids taking the same level of classes, and getting 5.0’s. He is using his 15 minutes to try and score preferential treatment.
He is probably from CA. That is why he wants o go to school there. He uses the School shooting to look like a big shot. How could they turn him down, he is a celebrity.
Yes, for AP (Advanced Placement classes), an A = 5 points, B = 4 points, etc. In addition, AP classes are college level classes and the credits transfer with you to college. My son was accepted by UCLA and with his college-level AP credits, he entered as a freshman who was one credit short of being a sophomore. He graduated in three years.
Well, Im off to Arbys today
Wow, I must type slow. In the time it took to post my response, 4 others had already posted the same explanation. :)
More oinks from the little Hoggy.
yes!!! and my gaydar is strong. Mama’s boy.
If I remember correctly, when I was in high school in the 70’s, advanced classes were worth 5 points and AP classes were worth 6 points.
They tried it, but he clogged the bowl.
Love Arby’s! One anti-boycott I’ll certainly enjoy. I tweeted to him to buckle down and study. I’ve yet to check back with the child.
So how does it work? Did they just add 1 to all the traditional letter scores?
Multiply that 1428 average by 2/3, and you get roughly 950. That's the "true" average on a 1600 pt. scale.
That’s really impressive. You must be proud. I bet he got to pick his salary and where he wanted to work. I’m sure companies were lining up.
We have enough human waste here in CA already. Keep the little worthless pr!ck out of our state. But I am surprised that Janet Napolitano hasn’t offered him a “full ride”scholarship.
David Hogg needs to learn to stop hating women.
Adolf Hogg is also a foul-mouthed, brain-dead brownshirt.
He would better serve his cause better if he kept the cause at the center of his efforts and not himself. He becomes an easy person to caricature.
UC Santa Barbara. Studying on the beach. It was so many years ago when a young conservative had a sign in his window on the 7th floor of San Miguel hall that said: BOMB PEKING. Yes, Beijing was commonly called Peking in those days. Am I really that old?
