'Rumor mill' says Ryan headed for exit

Rep. Mark Amodei (R-Nev.) told a local news station that there is a “rumor” that Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will resign soon, stepping up speculation about the Speaker’s political future.

“The rumor mill is that Paul Ryan is getting ready to resign in the next 30 to 60 days and that Steve Scalise will be the new Speaker,”

I sure hope that my rep, Steve Scalise, doesn’t get the gig. He used to be a good representative for our district, but since he’s became the Whip, he has to go along with the speaker’s agenda and now doesn’t vote necessarily with our wishes. He was one of the turncoats who voted for the Omnibus bill last week, and I know he wouldn’t have done that if he wasn’t part of the leadership.

They can kick out the Speaker anytime there are enough votes to call for a new Speaker. AND remember the Speaker does NOT have to be a member of the US Congress. Newt's name was bandied about when the "son of a bartender" quit abrupt(Zero's golfing buddie), and Paul Rino filled the gap. It was said the Freedom Caucus could not decide who they wanted and Paul Rino first said he didn't want it and wouldn't accept the nomination unless his three demands were met (one was no weekend work - hell they don't put in 40 now!) - then Rino backed down and capitulated.

If Ryan resigns then it means he will run against Trump in 2020.

If Ryan resigns now, it means he won’t get blamed if the GOP loses the House in 2018 and he has a year and a half to get his Presidential campaign together.

Respectfully........anyone who wants a Dem majority is a fool. It gives them a leg up on re-apportionment, it means impeachment of Trump and endless frustration of the Trump agenda. Trump says he needs friends in Congress, and Dems are NOT friends.
